TTS Master Tuner Help Needed Urgently!
« on: February 01, 2012, 07:54:01 PM »

Hell, I can not ride my new SEUC until I work this out.
Basic MasterTuner instructions states "go to fuel map emailed to you by Fullsac Performance"
When do I receive this email ? Do I have to request it ?
When I download TTS program to lap top does this lap top receive fuel map email ?
Heck, so close but yet so far....
Hope someone can help

If you bought the TTS from Fullsac, you need to call or e-mail them with your current setup and then they will e-mail you a map. It will not happen automatically.

Also--on the PC with the software installed you need to run the TTS updater so you can be sure you have the latest version of the Mastertune software.

When you bought the TTS system, you run the updater to your computer, this will give you all the latest files and updates.
Depending on what you have on your bike (exhaust, intake, cams.......whatever) there will be a "canned map" that will closely match what you have.
SAVE your OEM file BEFORE you load any other map.
Take some time to read the instructions and you will familiarize yourself with the software, THEN load the map closest to what you have.
Your bike will run just fine with the enclosed maps, but, if you want it tweaked to the max, Fullsac can provide a dyno generated map that may be all you need.
You can always tune your own with the enclosed programs in TTS.

Can't stress enough to read through the documentation with the program.
Good luck until you can get Steve on the phone, he's a busy guy!

Fullsac should have sent you the fuel map via email when you bought the package.  Nevertheless, the one of the folks in the shop should be able to email you the map if Steve isn't in.  Good luck.

Understand this is NOT a TTS map yet one Fullsac created and those are there instructions. So if you install all your software on your PC and update it all. Then SAVE the original calibration from the bike you can put in one of the TTS supplied calibrations until FullSac can send you what you need.

So, since I run a nation wide technical support organization I will ask some basic questions that no one has asked.  Why, because you 1st have to establis what the issue is.  You ahve to define the actual problem before you can fix it.

1st - what exactally did you buy from Fullsac?
Why do I ask? Because  this sets the expectations for what you need.

Example, if you bought the TTS only, there would be no expectation of any map to be provided, you bought a tuning device only.  What map could Steve provide not knowing what you would need.

If, you purchased other parts from Steve, I.E.  XPipe or baffles &/or TTS did you request his base map for a specific combination?  You could still purchase parts and have no expectation of a map as he would not know what to send, not knowing what cams, compression, air cleaner etc, that you are using.

Not taking any sides here, just pointing out that there is a lot of missing information.

Thanks for all the responses (especially Steves) more information is needed here so I'll share
Firstly, when i purchased the stage one kit from fullsac ( x pipes, baffles & TTS) they have provided an exellent service and product. I have no complaints what so ever. Living on the other side of the world, means when i'm sleeping you guys are up and about,  and when your sleeping i'm keen to get out and ride my bike. So contacting anyone in the US for us is always difficult. After approx 4 months waiting for new bike my local  HD dealer finally received it and started all my mods. He rang today and said until i organize this fuel mapping email from Fullsac, i don't take possession of my bike. He also said he has never put one of these systems on before and I will have to bring my laptop from home into his workshop, down load program, receive email from Fullsac on my laptop.
Anyway, I'm now going to get up in the middle of the night and ring steve from fullac and I'm sure he will be as helpful as ever. Maybe my first ride will be tomorrow, my wife tells me, I must have patience

It's extremely important that you snag a copy of the ECM's stock calibration using the TTS Mastertune software before you do anything else to the bike with Mastertune.  The ECM will become locked out against modification by any other method once you upload a TTS calibration (from wherever you got it) to the ECM.

By first fetching the information you need from the ECM with the mastertune software you will be able to "unlock" the ECM again in the event the dealer needs to change anything in the ECM.  It's all in the instructions to how to do this but I'll tell you:

1. Click on "File" at the top left of the Mastertune software window.
2. In the dropdown that resuts, in the third area down you have two options:
        Program ECM
        Save or Restore Factory Calibration...

Click the "Save or Restore Factory Calibration... and follow the instructions.  It's been a while since I've done it but I recall they use "upload" and "download" the reverse from what would normally come to mind.  They're talking about it from the reverse direction (your PC is being "uploaded" to or "downloaded" from) that most computer folks think of (where you'd "upload" from your PC to something else or "download" from something else to your PC).

There was a lengthy discussion recently on another forum about the ramifications of using TTS in terms of a Harley dealer being able to do things with their Digital Technician.  Some things that would otherwise be a routine operation for them are not possible when a TTS calibration has been uploaded to the ECM using the last several versions of TTS software so they can find themselves going into a tailspin if they're not up to speed with TTS.

You must save off a copy of the ECM before you write anything to it with the TTS so that you can put that copy back in if for any reason the Digital Technician needs to write something to the ECM.

We have not yet received an answer in that other forum as to whether a new copy of the ECM must be made after the Digital Technician is done doing whatever it needed to do.  Maybe Steve Cole will see this here and take notice that we're still waiting...

As to the calibration you will receive from Fullsac, it may or may not be the best place to start.  I know in my case it definitely would not have been.  I installed SE255 cams in my 103 and he sent me a calibration for something else.  It would've taken much more work to get it dialed in than one of the calibrations included with the TTS software, which took next to nothing beyond a few good v-tune runs.

I would not ride the bike without the map.

I can send you a map for your mods, assuming you have only done the X pipe (B version), 2" cores, and kept the stock ventilator A/C on the bike.  It's a map Steve did on a 2012 bike, but it should get you where you need to be.  I'll need your real email address.  PM me with that information.

I did Fullsac baffles and TTS from Steve on my former 2009 FLHTCUSE4. Doing the ECM update is not that hard to do and if you can, I'd suggest having the dealer complete the mechanical mods and truck it to your house and then you do the computer/ECM update yourself. Having an inexperienced dealer do it may not be the best idea, especially when they tell you they've never done it before. That would warn me to deal with it myself. Just a thought. good luck.

I have used EQF 17 03 AO for a very similar bike as yours. It worked fine.
You would maybe try that one and see how it behaves until Steve sends you something HE has dyno'd at his place.

This would be useful to know.

Do not know what your asking for sure but I will take a guess. If you return your bike to the original calibration and then have DT modify the system yoou do need to make a new save of those changes. Once you have saved the new baseline so to speak you can reload you calibration. Hope that's what you were asking.
