You can put any parts you can get on a non-CVO bike... but it still doesn't make it a CVO. CVOs are born CVOs... with a CVO VIN. Can't just become one later, no matter what you add to it.

Kind of pisses me off that the MoCo has decided to make the CVO rear SG fender available for all bikes on the open market now. I guess the only thing CVOs have that's really special anymore is the 110 engine and the paint jobs...

Actually, it was an 09 SERG fender/LED tailight section first.  Then they borrowed it for the 10 SESG.

But your point remains the same and well taken. :2vrolijk_21:

The MoCo better still feel threatened as fas as this part goes.  I hate to say it, but Yaffe's puts the MoCo's set up to shame.  Fewer seams and the license plate is frenched.  An LED liense plate light in the upper corner of the license plate frame.

Click on this link and scroll down seveal pics to see it first hand, on a bike.....  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=70085.msg971055#msg971055

Well, no matter what you add to bikes to make it CVO, CVOs will stay the original one. Not forgetting the huge difference in Price between the CVO and what I called a CVO replica

Yaffe also makes a frenched liscense kit. Basically a metal box you weld into the back of your fender. Should be a relatively easy mod. Finding a good painter after might be the only hard part.

As far as I know the only 'Restricted' parts are painted parts and identifying parts such as CVO badges and labels. Hell, even the engine doesn't have 'Restricted Part' in the listing. When I put together my rear fender and fascia I got the part numbers right out of the Parts Catalog for the 2010 FLHXSE and primed parts are available without restriction, painted CVO parts were restricted. In fact even the license plate light hood was primed. That tells me the physical part was not intended to be restricted to any one model line. Now, if the parts book had said the part, and not just the painted part, was restricted I think you'd have a beef with people doing what I did and what the MOCO has now done. But it's not.

ThunderBueller, I have no beef with you. The facia install looks great on your bike and I don't blame you for putting it on. I would do it on my '11 CVO Ultra if everybody else wasn't doing it already.(It should have been on the bike from the factory). My problem is with the MOCO making that facia available to anyone, after only offering that part on CVO bikes.(It gives them a more exclusive look). The LED lights built into the bag filler/fender extension should be indigonous to CVO bikes IMHO.
