A guy I used to ride with; his wasn't a CVO, but a very nice Harley anyway. He had an old Goldwing cover that was in good shape, but he made the cover look ratty. He parked it right outside his room door, of if he could get it thru the door, he took it in the room with him.
I usually cover mine, but not with CVO cover. When I'm alone on the bike, I always get a room with outside doors and get a ground floor. And I sleep with Mr Smith and Mr Wesson. And I'm a very light sleeper. So far, its worked for me.
Last year, I was in eastern CO, small town on the plains and stopped one night in a mom & pop motel. Parked the bike right in front of the office and told him I wanted a ground floor with outside door, he just grinned. Pop said I don't have any ground floor rooms left, but I'll cut you a break on a 2nd floor room and let you park your bike inside my garage for $5. Parked my bike next to his '36 Plymouth sedan. He sent me down the street to a steak house, and told me to use his name for a 20% discount. After I ate, we then visited for 2 hrs. One of the best evenings of the week.
