2012 Rear Light Options?
« on: February 12, 2012, 05:41:59 PM »

Anyone know of any plug and play, or easy to add LED Rear Lights for the 2012 CVO Streetglide?  I don't want to have to modify/paint.  Just need to make that back end brighter.  I have had friends say that in the bright light they cannot see the brake lights for jack chit on the bike.

Check out Kuryakyn.  I saw some in their catalog that I really like.  Seems like they have multiple choices  :2vrolijk_21:

I am also on the hunt for a smoked laydown LED tail light.
Looking at the Kuryakyn Low Profile LED Smoked Tail Light 5435 or 5439 but not sure if they will fit.

Anybody tried to fit one?

Looks familiar Mano  ;D. I was going to recommend badlands motorcyle products when I saw this thread but if possum is from Texas then he wouldn't have a pignose like us Canucks... that said if Badlands has something for the application, I'd highly recommend them. Also I personally had a terrible Kury experience so avoid their chinese electronics imho.

Grew up about 40 miles from Canuck land.....relocated to the warmer weather.......I take my kids up Walleye fishing every year on Nippissing..............

Did you add the center light, or change out one that was there?  This is what my rear end looks like right now.

They're messing with you.  The LED tailights on the SE Street Glide are the brightest that Harley's ever put out (until the LED lights on the tour packs of the SE Ultra Classic).  Follow a SE Street Glide and a regular model Harley and you tell me which are brighter.....especially when the brakes are applied :nixweiss:

However, there are other options.  You can add the saddlebag spoilers with the built in LED lights and then wire them as run/stop/turn lights. :2vrolijk_21:

They may be the brightest thing Harley has put out - and I agree they blow away what I had on the old Softail - just want to increase the visibility.   Those damn goldwings will blind ya!

No, international models have to have the extra light. Mano and mine (and every other made for sale outside the USA) have yellow signals and the big center taillamp. we switched ours to the smoked grey signals and replaced the stop lamp with the badlands laydown led.

Hey, would you send a close up pic on the bike with the stealth rack? I am thinking of adding the very same rack and standard height sissy bar on my OB SESG2. Thanks for your help.

This is the closest pic I have of the rack - I like that it looks good and is removable with the 4 point dock.

I have also been told by other riders that they were going to do the SESG rear fender mod to their older model bikes to clean up the rear end, and get those high visibility LED running/taillights...   :2vrolijk_21:
