That's just stupid Charlie.  Having more than one bike for one rider is a dumass waste.  Seriously.  Who'd be such a wanker?

From Chithead to Wanker, things are looking up!

Pirate,
I agree with guppy, if you want it and can afford it, do it. I, like you, sometimes feel guilty about the "toys" in the garage because they do not get the use they should due to work, but whats the point of working if you can't enjoy what limited time you have for yourself with the spoils of your efforts.

Don't get me wrong... I hate wasting money too, but at the end of the day you buy this bike and use up some money.... so what... you'll get a whole fresh batch of money next week!

Get happy!

ps... and not for nuth'n, but when you do get a chance to ride... you won't regret your choice. The new 2012 FLHXSE3 is lights years nicer than your 07. Great choice... I'm jealous!
I agree with Guppy and HDNIK, plus you may find yourself riding more than you think you will after finding out how much better the 2012 is over your old 07' bike. ABS has saved my azz several times since I got the 09', I want to upgrade the bike my wife is riding to something with ABS as soon as possible.

Thanks guys, I am going to do it. Im selling the 07 SG and the 01 springer.

Ive read up on ABS and to me it seems prudent to go with the technology. Apparently studies show they really help. Plus the bike is just badass.

Ive almost wrecked twice on my bikes where ABS would have eliminated the need for me to clean my drawers after the close call.

Its a no brainer. Thank you all.

If you check back a few weeks I was in the same agonizing position as you were....I have a 120 Tman Street Glide.  Gnashed teeth, wailed and whined to those who would listen.  Then I started my bike and decided I am going to keep it.  The dealer would give me about 17.5K with both the original motor (with no miles), and the current engine.  They wanted 16.5K to boot.  Just couldn't wrap my head around that number and decided that I needed at least 20K from my current bike before I would buy the SESG.  Then I began reading the twin cam boards about the horsepower chase some SESG owners had begun and realized that I didn't want to play that game again...  Sure the bike is beautiful.  Sure would like the ABS... Sure would like the 6 gallon tank but then again I have 8 gallons on my 09 GSA BMW.  So the bike stays in the garage.  Good luck to you in your decision.  Spook.

Run, don't walk away from that '07.  If money isn't the issue get the new one and never look back.

Not sure why they seem to be peculiar to the SESG vs. other models, so I've left these threads in the SESG board rather than move them.

Those are both about 2011 SESG2 audio issues.  The only issue I've known, heard, or experienced, were the early production SESG3's, mine included, had the cable harness to the right saddle bag routed incorrectly and it would bow into the rear wheel when the shocks were compressed, causing the harness to get worn through and basically shutting down the right side of the system.  I had it happen to me, they fixed the wiring harness by routing it properly and haven't had an issue since.

I stand corrected  :2vrolijk_21: I had read on this forum about the mis-routing concerning the wiring harness under the saddlebag.  Resolving this was as simple as pulling the bag and checking to see if the harness was correctly routed.  When I saw your posted thread I was scared that you were talking about the amp or speakers fading.  :orange:
