I simply turned off the whole "Navigation" prompts and warnings... I don't need to hear Jill or John or whomever has the most pleasent sounding voice, mispronounce all of the street names anyway...
I have noticed though that the indicated speed limits (as posted on the road) are synced almost perfectly (within 10 yards) with the GPS... I guess someone really put in a lot of unnecessary research into the idea...
Of course we all know when we're slightly over the posted limit... but who has the time to actually watch the speedometer when out on some lonesome stretch of road when you're by yourself... unless of course you are trying to set a personal speed record that is.
For the most part (anywhere), it's stay up with the flow of traffic, or get run over... cause everyone knows that the cages can't see us anyway.
I've always been a proponent of mandatory motorcycle training for everyone... whether they like it or not, riding two wheels will almost always give the driver of a car/truck a whole new appreciation for looking out for the other guy... it's funny how I will (most of the time) notice the intent of the drivers in front of me, even before they realize they're about to change lanes or turn in front of someone.
What scares me most is the PANIC look I can see in their behavior, once they notice me in there mirrors. Sends a chill everytime... they'll slow way down, or start weaving inside their lane, or sometimes make that sudden shudder like they've seen a ghost or something.
Anyway, this got way too long for a simple answer to a simple question...
Just turn off the Navigation Sounds on the unit... I mean really, how many of us really need to know where we're at... and to loosely quote a standard... "It's not about the Destination, it's all about the Journey"
