What type of mufflers are you running on the Fullsac pipes?
« on: March 21, 2012, 02:58:14 PM »

I have a buddy with a SERG and he wants some performance pipes and a little more sound with a deeper quality. What sound good on the Fullsac header pipes?

Fullsac offers three versions of their cores to accommodate the sound you're looking for. The 2.25" cores are reportedly the loudest .....probably just down from straight pipes disguised as mufflers. The 2" was a bit loud for my tastes .......especially on an all-day ride. The "hammering effect" produced by the powerful 110" CVO motor can get quite onerous for a mature rider who is touring. The 1.75" core has reportedly been just slightly less noisy. The good news is that Fullsac has just developed a more quiet version of their 1.75" core which I can verify works quite well ..........at least for my tastes!

I run the 2.0 Fullsac cores on my stock mufflers and Fullsac's X Pipe.
You may get the hammering effect with a non X pipe type header because each pipe is separate but you would need to check with Trigger-Man about his header pipe set up. I do not notice any hammering affect with my set up.
I ran V&H Monster ovals on my 08 RG with the Klock Werks switchback pipe which is a true dual pipe with no cross over and had some hammering affect on the highway but it wasn't too bad. They sounded pretty good on the 08. A friend of mine runs the Monster Ovals on his 2011 CVO Electra Gide Classic and they sound pretty good. Not too mellow and not too loud. I'm not sure what header header is running though.

I run the Fullsac X pipe with the SE Fatshotz mufflers. A very nice deep and rich rumble, but not very loud at idle and cruising, not disturbing to the good folks and neighbors untill you open her up, then they really sing. Classy !

Running Rinehart 4" mufflers on the Fullsac.  Haven't heard them yet, but my tech recommended them for their deep bass sound.  Much different than the 3.5" cans.

Checked Fullsac.com website today and could not find any information on quiet version 1.75" baffle.
Can someone provide more info (pics, what modification, etc)?

Warwick ..............the upgraded version of the 1.75" core is NEW and is apparently an evolution of what the 1.75" was intended to be.........the least noisy of the three cores. It was just developed and put into production to fill new orders .........don't know if there'll be any fanfare or announcements. When ordering ......I recommend specifying that the newer model be shipped.

I'll be running V&H High Outputs on my X-Pipe, When it finally comes in... The V&H's have a VERY deep rumble at idle but don't
seem like they'll be to loud out on the road. Hard to tell as I'm still running stock headers (cat, high heat and all)
