Great Ride Report Lou.....thanks a bunch for posting it! :2vrolijk_21:

As you know, thanks to Panhead Jimmy bringing Gold Point to our attention, a group of us are headed down that way in a couple of weeks.  Really looking forward to it.  With the exception of just passing through a couple of years ago and the temps were cooler, all the other times I'd been through there was when I was younger (on my way to Vegas or Laughlin) and I think it was always in the triple digits so it was all about just getting across it.  Looking forward to actually spending some time enjoying it this time.

Thanks again for your RR! :2vrolijk_21:

Here we are with some of the the As-holes. The guy behind the bar is Sheriff Stone who owns the town.
Doc- I talked with S.Stone and asked if there was a gun range in town? He told me " GO OUT OF TOWN 1 MILE AND BLAST AWAY ,THIS IS NV. NOT CA."  i told him cool i,m going to kill me some water bottles and pie plates easter weekend

I'm thinkin the wild flowers should be out by then, we saw very few this time. Have fun and it would be worth the effort to visit Beatty on the way out to have some chili at the Burro and say hello to Crystal the owner.

Since we left Beatty at 05-darkthirty I saw a few on the road while headed out to Baker. Its funny that the rabbits now have some road sense and get out of the way, saw no road kill anywhere.

Glad you two had a good trip.  The weather looked great. Fuel prices are nuts but better than being stranded.

I'll hide my chocolate easter bunny then, but there are some big Jacks out there this year.

I told Sheriff Stone some of my friends were coming on Easter weekend and he named you all from memory.  He is very proud of "his" town and will gladly take you on a tour.

Be sure you all take a kickstand puck because most all of the terra firma near the cabins is loose dirt.  The road in and out is paved, but the edge of town turns to desert consistency.

I highly recommend The Happy Burro for chili in Beatty.

Thanks for the heads up Jimmy.  I don't believe I've got a kickstand puck but I'll figure something out in the next week.....an empty drink can works great in a pinch. :2vrolijk_21:

Ya know, there's still a cabin available.....you'd be able to say "once, years ago, I spent a night in Gold Point, Nevada and what an 'experience' it was!" :huepfenlol2:

What I want to know is who got the cabin with newspaper for wall paper?  That one struck me as the most interesting but I was looking for convienent parking. ;D
