Makes you really confident in "dealer prep" when they miss something like this.  Unless something has changed very recently, the dealer has to initialize the security system during prep.  And I'm not aware of any way the customer could do it, so it looks like you have a good excuse for a nice little ride.  Tell the dealer he owes you lunch and a tank of gas.

Made me wonder what kinda delivery process the sales rep followed.... "Well Mr. Customer let's see... Yes I have yer money here... Yep I guess that's it. The owner's guide is in the saddlebag in case you have any questions... Here are the keys to your new bike... Go long!"
Like it would kill him to show you a few features on the bike before you left??.... Like maybe how the security system works! (or wasn't working before you left?)

Any way orthobill13... Welcome to the site and I hope you enjoy your new ride. Congrats!

After reading this, I'm not so sure mine is programmed either.  They did take my $$ and did send me on my merry way,,   And then they went out of business.  I think I'll try my local dealer for some help on this one.    :nixweiss:
