Re: 2013's
« Reply #60 on: April 29, 2012, 05:39:29 PM »

Is it to early to start discussing what the 2013 Screaming Eagles will be.

Not sure if this is true but my dealer said the 2013's will not be shown at Sturgis and will be announced at least a month later that  normal.
Sure would like to know if there is a trike this year

Guess it depends on who you ask. We've got about an even 50/50 split between those who claim THEIR dealers have said business as usual and those who are saying they've been told the 2013's will be late as will the annual dealer meeting. It is what it is, don't matter one way or another to me. I don't get invited to the annual dealer meeting, I'm not going to Sturgis and I am not buying a 110th Anniversary CVO. I do enjoy tossing stuff into the wind and seeing who tries to fly it and who tries to shoot it down. THAT, I can predict  :P

Would be nice if MOCO would stop production on the SESG's for a few years so maybe mine would hold it's value a little better.  Every year, they are getting a little less "rare" and the depreciation is depressing.  It wouldn't bother me so much, but I told my wife when I bought mine that it was a good "investment".   ;D

I think they are a good investment.  Helps me enjoy life and friends, relaxes me, and clears my mind.  So one of the best investments I ever made. :)

As for retaining value, I bought it to ride.  Didn't do to bad on the 09 SERG, hopefully the 12 will not  be much different when the time comes for a new one

2012 CVO line up?

Street Glide
Road Glide
Ultra
Convertible

I would expect them to not change any models... people are on waiting lists at every dealer in my area for the 2012's and will be for the 2013's.

I think the trike may be in the works this year...that would be a great looking scooter!  And I wouldn't mind to see another Road King...

You know,  when riding there are 2 bikes that kind of stand out as the choice of bikers,  I know there are plenty of Great looking Harley's on the roads, and I am not trying to down anyone's choice in bikes,  but the Ultra's and Heritage is really the top two.  So with that said I still can't believe that Harley Davidson has not ever produced a Screaming Eagle Heritage.  Now that would be a seller.

Actually the emblems are quite easy to remove with the use of a heat gun or really hot hair dryer and some fishing line... Took me all of 5 minutes per side to remove my original red ones and replaced them with my custom emblems.

But I have the Denim finish and I don't want to add another badge, I want to leave it off so the paint is all that is on the tank.
I wish I was sure it would come off without leaving a mark . . .  :nixweiss:

Thx for the heads up.

I'm sorry but I can't comment on the denim paint as I have never had it.  All I can say is when my emblem came off it was clean, and that was most likely due to really heating the emblem with a heat gun.

Possibly your dealer can assist or their painter???  :nixweiss:

Good luck with it.

I would expect a Dyna to be in the line up for 2013 and perhaps even a Sporty, at least some more "special editions" as the MoCo tries to push those 2 models worldwide. In Europe they are the best selling two. In the new factory the number of possible CVO models is unlimited.

I agree with having a sporty in the line up, would be fair for those sportster fans and the first for a CVO sporty.
