Just got off the phone with Milwaukee and they said that the Eagle Ultru's are being delivered in the Black and Orange as we speak.???
I talked to five different dealers in the Western WI/ Eastern MN area about the CVO Ultras today and yesterday - 4 of the five were scheduled to get B/O Ultras with the other one the r/b .  All are saying that they were informed that the CVO Ultras have been delayed and do not to expect to receive them for three to four weeks.  :'( One of them did say that it looked like a number of B/Os had already been delivered to eastern WI and one in the Twin Cities in MN.  Another dealer was guessing, but thought that it might be a paint issue - something about the fairing being painted at one location and the rest of the bike in another.  Thought there might be a mismatch.  I believe Copout221 reported this with his new cvo.

Anyway all rumors and guessing so far with no official word  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  I wish one of them would call me and tell me that their's were on the truck and got delivered so I could see one in person.  Will not committ until I see one - may have to wait until Sturgis after all.  :(

Sauk Prairie HD is supposed to have a black and orange Ultra.  I'm going there on Saturday to check it out.  Djc, check out the thread under the Ultra topics.  There is a black and orange available.

That must be the one that Copout had put a deposit down on and then stepped away from.  Good luck and hope you score a great bike.

I'm not looking to buy, I just want to see one in the flesh.  Pictures don't do any CVO bikes justice.

Bought my O/B ultra Monday and will be returning to dealer next week to pick up. I will be going over it with a fine tooth comb. If anyone heres anything definitive about problems (not idle rumors) please let me know.

There seems to be so much misinformation out there re:colors, availabilty, timing.

All I know is I got mine at MSRP and it looked pretty damn good out of the crate.

I will be picking up my bike from Doc's HD on Friday(20k service finally done).  On Saturday I am going to Sauk and probably Capital City HD.  I will definetly be asking about any problems or delays regarding CVOs.

Yep, that is the one but I have not informed my saleman yet. I have a deposit on it I need to get back but I don't think that will be a problem. I am going to the other dealer tomorrow to check out the bike and make sure it is in perfect condition and to see if they can match the same financing deal I got at Sauk. If they cannot match the same deal I may still go with the Sauk bike and release the name of the other dealer so someone else can get their hands on it. IMO Sauk's setup cost is pretty high and I doubt they will budge on it or the price of the bike.

I also spoke with the MOCO today and they denied any kind of delay on the CVO touring bikes. After hanging up they (Robert) called me back and confirmed that there is a delay due to the demand and would not attribute the delay to any problems with the bike itself.

How can there be a delay in production due to people wanting too many?  In that case you're still building them as fast as you can.  People need to work on better excuses to pacify a group of first graders, nonetheless a group of professionals.

I agree but the MOCO is not going to admit to any problems with the bike, motor, powertrain, paint, etc because it could lead to lost sales. He told me that the 06 CVO Ultras had also been delayed but would not disclose why. Maybe the paint issues ?? Who knows

Now I know I am not an 06 owner, did not even consider trading when they came out, and so I could have missed this information, but I do not recall a delay in the 06's delivery, and I do recall the absolute shock  :o - expressed by dealers/service managers/salesmen/MoCo customer service and reps at the concept that there might be a problem with paint - and each and every single one, was the first they had heard of it.

If there is a problem with the bikes, it does not hurt to wait a couple of weeks while they sort it out and make it right.  I know I'd sure rather get a perfect bike then one that "Will be Made Right" after much angst/frustration/bitter sweet regrets, etc.

I will take camera along.  I don't know how to post pics but my wife can do that for me.  I'm going to hit as many HD dealers as I can on Saturday.  Hopefully, each one I stop at has a CVO. [smiley=greedy.gif]

On Monday morning I went through the factory tour to see if I could get a glipmse of the colors of SE ultras before I make a decision. They would absoulutely not let me see colors but the tour guide said we may see a black one at the roll test area as she had been seeing them there for over a month. But alas, no se ultras. An hour later I was in a dealership buying one anyway.

The reason we did not see one at the roll test area may have been due to the delay......or maybe not.

As stated above I am picking up the bike early next week. If anyone has any real information as to why they are being delayed I would greatly appreciate it. I have to laugh at the response from the MoCo. "Uhhh yes there is in fact a delay.....uh....its because too many people want them.....uh.....so we decided to stop building them."

God bless America....what a country huh?
