I need some CVO Harley brain power!
This pertains to my 2009 SERG but may apply to all bikes with the electronic throttle by wire. Several times last week and once a couple of months ago, the bike abruptly has gone into ETC Forced Management Mode (Max about 25 mph with very little power) in the middle of riding or upon starting. That is quite hairy in traffic. Surprise! Dealer can't replicate the problem though it happened to me on the way to the dealer for them to look at.
Bike shows these Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC):
Code: P1511
Fault Condition: Throttle actuator limited power management mode
Priority Order 91
Solution: 6.23 DTC P1510,P1511,P1512
Code: P2135
Fault Condition: Throttle position sensor correlation error
Priority Order 44
Solution: 6.31 DTC P2135,P2138
Turning the ignition on and off 3-4 times seems to temporarily rectify the problem but is obviously not a solution. Once when that did not work, I pulled and reinserted the main fuse and that seemed to work for a while. Dealer says it may be a loose wire but I have doubts. Bike has been in the shop since last Friday.... I'm not happy. Wish I had more facts. Otherwise, the bike seems to run fine.
I tried the search function here as I thought I recalled some discussion on this a couple of years ago. No luck. Ideas? Thoughts? Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any thoughts.... I need to be in Parkfield next week!
