Eagleye, regarding your rear foot boards, if you swap the entire unit including where it bolts to the frame you will not have to remove your left footboard to change your primary plus you will have a lot more room between the front footboard and the rear. It helps a lot when you are on the back and you have to back up for some reason. I did it to my 09SEUC tremendous difference. I made a post about it and got a lot of positive responses. Actually, I had the oil changed and all the fluids checked at Ironhorse Motor Company in Freemont about two months ago.  I didn't realize they had to remove the left floorboard to do it!  Hummmmmmm.

Thanks CAHDBIKER!  Do you have the link to that thread?  I'd heard that before, but not sure how it works.  If Deedee's more comfortable and I have more room, it would be a win-win.

Regarding the prior comment about the maintenance I had done recently: Assigning liability for it falling off would be difficult, so I'm not sure I have much of a leg to stand on -- it's been at least two or three months.

Eagleye, I am not sure how to provide you with a link directly to that thread, but if you do a search and put in the words passenger footboards I am sure you will find it. However, it is very easy to do. You just remove the bolt that holds your rear footboard arm to the frame (right in front of the swing arm pivots) on both sides and then reattach them to the opposite sides. the attachment arms are offset so that when you change them from side to side the entire unit moves rearward. My wife liked it the way it was. We have since been to Canada and back and she has not complained about the footboard position, but the actual footboard is adjustable if you need to move it. Don't forget to torque it properly to the frame with a little blue locktite and you will be all set. Let us know how it works out and if you like it. As far as I am concerned for about fifteen minutes worth of work it was a great improvement and nowI am  not constantly banging my calf muscle on the rear foot board (you will gain several inches of movement for your legs) on the occassions where I have to back up. Thanks CAHDBIKER, I'll do this one tonight.  The parts are in, so it's off to the House of Thunder HD after work today. 

I'd say yay; but there's nothing to cheer about.  This was an unexpected expense that could have done a nifty upgrade to my bike otherwise.  Good news is we'll not have to borrow "Rs" floorboard.

Here's an update.  The parts came in and I rode the 35 mile round trip from my house to pick them up.  I asked the clerk if all the parts were there and he assured me they were.  It turned out he was wrong.   The two steel pins that hold the pan to the bracket were missing.  Also, the set screw that secures the floorboard to the pan was missing.    I drove all the way back to House of Thunder to pick up the two pins and set screw.  The clerk was apologetic and admitted he screwed up.  Oh well…they charged half price for the pins…whoop-de-do.  I saved five bucks, but it cost me ten to do the round trip in my car, cause the bike was on the lift.
 
It is disappointing to see how MoCo charges outrageously inflated prices for parts for these bikes.  The parts are well made, but not made of precious metals or anything different than any other floorboards on the market.  They look good and have the rubber isolation, but other than that, it’s just another floorboard.  Go figure…

Also, I asked if they had any assembly instructions.  He said they must be in the box.  Huh?  Good thing I bought the manual for the '07 Ultra CVO right after I bought the bike.  There are full assembly instructions inside...nice!

I also swapped the floorboards from side to side; but the jury's still out on whether my BSR is going to like it or not.

There in lies the problem.  Should have taken it to Jim at Metal Dragon.  Just a couple more miles up the road and reliable work.  There's a reason he has more CVOs in his shop than anybody else.!   Give Jim a try Ken.

Ken, glasd your parts made it in in time for your trip. Just an FYI, the dealerships have access to all instructions online and can print them out for you or with persistance, they will email them to you.

Sadly the MoCo has not made a kit out these parts yet, an that is why the individual pieces are required.
Be thankful your not going to a Canadian dealer, as you could easy add another 30% on top of that.

 

You might be surprised there - I just priced the parts at UK prices, which are usually way higher than Canadian prices, and it comes to US$701 or thereabouts.  For UK and US prices to be similar is VERY unusual!
