V&H High Output Slip Ons question those running V&H HOs
« on: June 08, 2012, 06:45:34 AM »

The HOs have a removeable Baffle. can you remove the baffle while the cans are mounted on the bike? Is it easy?
Is there any reason why I would want to remove the baffles and run without them??

I just ordered the Pwr Duals & HOs stationed in Germany so now i have the wait so i'm just wondering be gentle if its a really stupid question....thanks

The question from me would be why do you want to take them out?  First, it will hurt your performance big time.  Second, it will be obnoxiously loud, and being in Germany, will probably get you a ticket.  From the V&H's I've heard, the mufflers are gracious plenty loud as they come.

I'll be pulling one of the baffles this weekend.

After I installed my HO notice a problem with the one on the left hand side.

Sent an email with the pics to V&H and in a few days a brand new baffle was waiting for me when I got home last night.

Thanks all for the update........I guess I'm just impatient as i'm waiting on my setup and I have never really had loud pipes. My first bike evo FLSTS with SE Cans and respectable but not loud. And one day when I was at a red light a kid told me to rev the engine and it was underwhelming..... No as I wait for my set up i read some guys say PWR Duals and HOs are loud and other say that Dresser Dual and HOs are louder..... VH said the best set up for 110 SESG was PWR Duals HOs ......So its just nerves and waiting for my set up to arrive. I'm sure I'll be satisfied as it will sound better than stock.....

Really don't think you will want to remove the baffels, The HO with Touring Duals are a loud muffled sound, It took me 4 complete exhaust systems to find the right sound and to get the 4" cannons sticking out the back like the stock one's that came on the bike.  :2vrolijk_21:

Not likely you could make it any worse. Had a set of these roll through my dyno room recently on a 2012 CVO stage II build. The TQ dip at 2750 RPM was extreeme to say the least because of the ridiculously large core. I thought for sure the customer would be upset. Not in the slightest, he loved the sound and could have cared less.
The Harley biz still makes me scratch my head sometimes.  :nixweiss:
