Killed while in a funeral procession...nothing said about PGR.  Anyone know if he was a Patriot Guard Rider or with some other Veterans group?

RIP...prayers for his surviving family and friends.

This happened just south of Finks HD.  He was attending a funeral for a  fallen brother.  News has it
that the Big F***ing A** hole thought he was bigger and even after hitting him (he ran over his head) he tried to
take off but some of the other riders stopped him broke his side glass and thats why in the report he was
taken to hospital with minor injuries.  Serves him right.  Dam it that just pisses me off. Sorry
for being disrespectful but  :soapbox:

Not defending the truck driver and I defiantley pass my condolences to family and friends of the deceased MC rider, But what or how did this happen in a parking lot in the opposite direction of the funeral possession ?   Somthing not adding for me here..   Is it possible the truck guy did somthing to disrespect the funeral prossion and the MC guy(s) chased down the truck guy.  :nixweiss:   :nixweiss:

The way I read it, the truck driver thought he could cut through a gap in the procession.  Doing so, he cut in front of the now dead biker.  He was trying to pull into the parking lot.  Now, I'm hoping he'll have a manslaughter charge levied and will end up incarcerated.

What a waste...

Very sad indeed.  I know that it may sound strange to some of you but here in the south most motorist will pull over to the side and stop while a funeral procession passes by.  Out of respect.  I'll refrain from sharing my thoughts about the truck driver.  :(

Maybe another case of a rider not being seen.

Bikes riding in the middle to outside of the lane behind a car are not visible to oncoming traffic.

I now like to ride where I can see the eyes of the oncoming drivers. If there is a car/truck in front of me then I move to the inside of the lane. (This lets the oncoming cars that want to pass or turn see that you're there behind a car.)  If no cars in front of me then I ride to the outside and can be seen better by oncoming cars, especially those in the pack that want to pass or turn.

RIP

Not strange to me, but that's because I lived in the South for 25 years.  In rural areas all traffic stops, even in the small towns. People would stand by their cars with hats in hand or bowed in prayer.  In the cities, it was harder to do; but some still would.  Otherwise, traffic would not interfere with the procession.

How this jerk could not see the procession or the bike is beyond me.  I just think it was kind of like to fools who think they can outrun a train and cross ahead of them.  He simply missjudged the gap.  He saw the bike but figured he could beat it.  He did...into the ground.  So sad to hear of the rider's fate. That could be any one of us who choose to ride with the PGR or other service groups.  Be careful friends.

Prayers for all affected, including his family who have to put up with this too.

more likely 'aggravated' or 'impatient' than anything else........surely a truck driver wouldn't have been 'distracted' as many cage drivers are ???   spyder
