Ok, so I've had my 2005 SEEG for about three weeks now and I'm finding all the little things that need to be done. I'll save the suspension questions for the proper forum but right now I'm dealing with pipes and air flow. Since this bike was used I really don't know if the previous owner did any tweaking to the ECM or not. The HD service records show nothing like that but still..?
So I installed Rineharts last week and the low end performance increase was noticeable. However, it did affect the cold idle characteristics quite a bit. My next plans include some changes to help with the massive heat issues while riding. I'm looking at going with the V&H dual header and the traditional looking K&N filter system. I want to retain the SE air filter cover so the heavy breather setup is out.
Explanations finished so here's my question. I know this is going to require re-mapping of the ECM but what is the best way to go? I know opinions vary greatly on Power Commander vs. V&H, etc. I'm just now getting familiar with what this bike has from the factory (Stage 1?) and what needs to be done. I'm just looking to make it slightly cooler and more tolerable to ride. I'm not planning on doing 150 mph or trying to stand the thing on the saddlebags.
The input from those of you who have already gone down this road is very valuable to me. I'd rather do this once and be done with it.
