Ok,
Remember when you were a kid and the first day of school, the teacher would go around the class and ask everyone to confirm the contact info they had on file. Now imagine if your Mom's name was Gertrude and your Dad's name was Rufus. My first day of school was short. I kicked the crap out of a kid that made fun of my folks's names and got sent home for fighting in school. I did it ever year thereafter. Made me one tough SOB. Well my Dad is still alive at 81. Missin a leg, but he gets around on one of those new leaf spring fake ones and just bought of all things a Scion. Had to have the chrome wheels too. I figure " RUFUS " would be good company for " ELVIS "

The names certainly sound like they belong together.  I'd never name a bike or a car until I'd been on it a bit though.  Got to know who it "feels" like before you start getting personal with the beast.

Today's the day !  Croc/Alligator/Ostrich saddlebags and seat from Tailup are due in on the UPS truck.  Shows how much I love Elvis that I am as excited about this as I am about the new Road Glide. Yeah yeah yeah, pictures pictures.  Beags is due back from sweaty Seoul and has a super new digital camera. My old Sony uses floppy's and I don't have a floppy drive in my new laptop (not too smuckin fart am I ). One way or another we'll post some pics this weekend.

Adios

I hear the name Rufus, I think of Rufus Thomas:

"Baby's back, dressd in black, silver buttons all down her back. High, low, tipsy toe, she broke a needle and she can't sew. Walkin' the dog, just a-walkin' the dog .."  [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=jalapeno.gif]

My parents both came from Germany, so I had some defending to do too.  [smiley=mean.gif]

Hey TC,
If I decide to go with a feminine name it'll be Lisa Marie for sure. She rocks and she's blood to the King.

That's even better than Pricilla, and you're right, she's blood.

My Ultra is Wanda June...comes from a couple of different sources...

All kidding aside Gary this bike (even without a name) is one I like perhaps better than any I've had.  Have had some that were just bikes.  Simply the beasts to be ridden until the next one came along.  Have a at least a couple I truly didn't like or didn't trust or couldn't carry enough tools for (how do spell "Brit"); and have at least a couple that I really really liked.  In fact the Road King right before this red bike was one of them.  But this bike really has kept my attention.  Granted, I've done a fair bit to it to tune it to my tastes.  But it's gotten there and I do enjoy it a lot.  Will no doubt be hanging on to it for a few more years.

ELVIS is in full Lounge Lizard Attire. Gimp knee and all, (funny how the pain goes away when it's something important like working on a bike I can't ride yet) I stripped off the hard bags and chrome bag rails etc and set up the new exotics. Just as soon as I get my hands on a digital camera with a jack to plug into this laptop you will all have pics. If you liked those bags and seat on the stock 03 SERK in the Best CVO Pic of 2006, wait till you see em on Elvis. Absolutely beautiful. And man oh man is that seat something to sit on. Like a cloud. Can't wait to take my first ride down PCH and profile through all the beach towns and biker hangouts. Thanks to all who bought stuff from the Elvis yard sale, so I could pay for these beauties.
