Type in 120r in the search and I think you'll find what you're looking for.

What would your guess be for total labor cost after it is turn key? I assume you would also have to get a good tune after also? Obviously I am thinking about doing it as well

Then you have to split the cases, plug and weld and balance the flywheels.....$$$$$

You might want to do a google search on the scissored flywheels on this motor but here's a thread right here on this forum.....   http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=76729.0

The MSRP for the model to fit Touring and Dyna late model bikes is $5695.95; then you have to add an intake system including throttle body/injectors/air cleaner, some sort of clutch upgrade (spring or just a better clutch), and the latest version of the compensator.  You will also need a custom tune.

The attachment was copied from the 2012 SE catalog; click on it to make it full size.

Really JC?  I've not heard or read of a single scissored crank on this motor...  And other than the vendor report from the link you've provided, my experience and what I've read on multiple forums indicates crank runout of this motor is typically .002 or less - far superior to the 110 runout results.  Even in your link, two other vendors indicate their experience is similiarly good with the 120r.  Perhaps you've read reports I've not seen, but I'm at 15k with the stock crank and running well with no issues...

It's not as extensive an issue as with the 110" but it's still a problem for some and not a gamble I'd be willing to take.  I'd rather have a motor built and know what I'm getting than roll the dice.

The problem has been on other forums.

Bored and talking with a parts guy the other day in WV while getting a new rear tire on the road.  Anyway, we were talking about the 120R engine which does not have any warranty.  They (Charlies H-D) have sold a few of the Jims 130 engines which do have a factory warranty for 3 or 4 years.

Should somebody standing behind what they built be of any consideration.

Jim's has a 130 now? When I bought my 131 it came with a one year warranty and that is from purchase date. So if you buy one and it takes a month or two to get installed you lose that time. Maybe that has changed which is a good thing. I went through that as there was about 3 months lost for me but it was their fault so Jim's took care of it I just had to tear it down and reinstall when it came back. I chose to have the flywheel service when I oredered it and have to agree with JC, knowing the bottom end is done right is great POM. To bad you can't get the `120r in pieces so you could do it right instead of having to tear it down first.

Obviously might have been a 131", not total recall when bored.  He did state a 3 or 4 year warranty because I was surprised but I just went to the Jims site and it does say 1 year.

Just bought a brand new  in the crate 120R from a guy in Hollister from HD Forums, he has delivered the engine to Jim at Metal Dragon who will install into the geezerglide when I ride down to Phoenix in mid september.

Ok you guys with the 120R do you know if there is an upgrade Cam Plate Assembly in the engine?

Lifters are they SE from Jims if so, will change.

We don't plan to do anything drastic to the engine, what have others done?

Oh by the way, there will be a SE 110" engine for sale soon.

Thanks,

geezerglide

Jim's has a 120, 131, and a 135 as well.

Geezer, the things you need to be concerned with are Exhaust would recommend the D&D borezilla with quiet baffle and a falsie.   Upgraded Clutch would consider the new scorpion that works with hydraulic clutch and has the vpc built in, 55mm HPI Throttlebody which uses the electronics on the 50mm you have now, you just send the complete throttlebody to HPI   or if you plan in the future to go bigger, buy the Harley 58mm send it to HPI and have them put on the larger manifold on it with the 5.3 injectors.
Beyond that is a tuning device and tune.

If it's a 2012 - 120r motor, it has the upgraded billet cam plate and high volume oil pump.  The lifters are SE lifters, but are not made by JIMS.

When I installed my 120r, I replaced the cams with T-Man 662-1 cams, upgraded the clutch with a BDL kit (purchased from Jim) along witha VPC 92T variable clutch kit, installed a 55mm HPI throttle body with 5.3 injectors and installed a Jagg 10 row oil cooler...

I'm at 15K on the motor and am happy!   :)
