they challenge Scott cause they have a hard on for him ...for what ever  reason i don't know ...what i can tell ya is I have personally done business with them and I have been  satisfied with there work, pricing, shipping etc
however there are current post's with 120r builds with cams , heads milled etc that are in the 140 club
but they aren't thrown under the bus so to speak cause they aren't Hillside or Joe's
I'm so tired of seeing the same peeps  slamming  the same vendors  etc
my topic got locked up because of the same bashing BS

Hey folks,
Thanks for the feed back. Sorry I haven't responded earlier but I was away.
To clear up my somewhat vague comment earlier. I really like Joe's Cycle. He took the time to talk to me about my bike and answered all of my questions. He never made me feel like I did not know what I was talking about which is rare in the tuner world through my experience. So... I would recommend Joe's any day of the week. I know some will say that his graphs are inaccurate because they show higher hp and tq due to using STD instead of SAE. but I see that as matter of technique. I took the SAE graph and corrected it from the STD base graph to see what, if any gain was made by the tune... what we have is a definite increase. Not a ton but enough to say that Joe's tune made a difference...

Now... for some new things to ponder... Since then I have contemplated the type of tune I really want. When I spoke with Joe I was not clear that I wanted the bike tuned yet still maintain active closed loop operation... Since I was not clear with that instruction my tune shuts down the O2 sensors completely. The AFR/Lamda values never get to the point where they will kick into closed loop operation. So... I get more hp/tq but I loose all the neat functionality of having a closed loop system(which I paid for). I think Joe could and would do just as good a job with a closed loop tune as he did with my current tune.

What's next... I am planning on remapping the bike to the HARLEY base tune and using the Smart Tune function to see what kind of rideablity I can get out of the bike. then I a plan on swapping the tunes back and forth to see what the difference is. Finally I may take the bike back to a dyno to have both tunes run just to get the numbers.

So... like I said... I am happy with the tune from Joe's for its horse power that he was able to achieve but since I want to run in CL and learn a few more things for myself I am gonna go back to the Harley base and see what I can do with the fancy tools... BTW... if you every meet a tuner who is eager to slam the work of another tuner, I would take my bike and go to that tuner instead. Last thing you need is an egotistical tuner working on your hard earned equipment.

HELP!!!!! I recently bought a 2013 cvo rg anniversary and installed woods tw777 cams and D&D 2 into 1 exhaust and sertpro. Im seeing different dyno sheets with this same set up on other bikes making 110+hp and 115+tq. My bike made 98hp and 117tq. Im not gonna name who tuned my bike cause the dealership has bent over backwards to help me out with different parts. At times they have given parts to me at their cost but I was wondering if there is something wrong with the tune and does anybody know where I should take my bike and have it tuned in Missouri?  Any input would be great! Thanks!

Hey HELP!!!!
With this cam I was told to up the compression to make it work well. I am currently putting this all together now. I am using a Power Vision with Autotune and wide band O2 sensors. SE 10.5 pistons up the compression and the heads were milled just a little to square it all up and get the compression nearer to 10.5. I also have a Dragos 2/1 exhaust.

Forget the numbers and go ride your bike as is. See if your are happy with it, as that is all that counts. There are so many games being played these days chasing the numbers that people have lost site of what really counts. The dyno shows one thing only, power at WOT. How often do you ride at WOT? If you stand beside the bike and lift up the rear fender slightly the typical gain on a dyno is 4 - 6 ft lbs, run the rear tire pressure up and there is a few more, run on a good cool day a few more, blow warm air over the dyno stack and you get even bigger numbers! All of this is BS but that's what's going on instead of using the dyno as a tool which is what it is.

Go ride your bike as you normally do and pay attention to the RPM and throttle position. If you are like most of us the engine will run between idle and 4000 RPM and 95% of the time you will never go past 40% throttle. The dyno chart shows NONE of this operating area and that is the area that counts when your on the road riding. Part throttle is much more important than WOT unless your drag racing or you want bragging rights at the local bar.

Very well said Steve,   Thats the reason I bought a 09 serg new and put on a thunderheader and race tuner and just ride it. I
have had several HD's just got tired of chasing those numbers, now I would like to cool it down and have thought about changing cams but I don't want to open up a can of worms,  :)

Thanks Steve

Gail's Harley-Davidson, in Grand View, has a VERY GOOD tuner there.

I understand you wanting what you paid for and I would too. The problem is with the game playing on the numbers end, it's really hard to tell where you should be. If your near Robin at Gail's HD give him a call, he will tell you if your off or not and treat you right.

Just curious, did you post anywhere what HP/TQ you started with? Really, performance is about percentages.

All the big numbers in the teens and twenty's that your chasing have milled heads or 10.5 to 1. Bottom line. I have the same set up but with 10.7 and i am at 113/123. ported heads, 4.9 injectors in a 50 mm(softail) stock has 46 mm. those numbers are not bad for stock 9.3 or whatever compression with a 42 degree closing cam.
