Congrats, but hang on to your ankles. The folks on this site consider it their sworn duty to help you spend more money than you will ever make.
It all statrs with a simple little upgrade of an A/C and pipes to get that "true Harley" sound, and before you know it, you're hooked. Next you're ordering kits from Zippers and Freedom, putting a second mortage on the house, lying to your wife, calling in sick at work ...... It's a drug, and there is no cure. It feeds on itself. Engine Mods alone aren't good enough anymore. Now you have to upgrade the stereo, add lights, different windshields, adapters that will make your Tour Pak do everything except hold luggage. Your life will spiral down into the bottomless pit of OCD.
Your friends will catch you lurking around dealerships and rallies; spying on other CVO owners to see if anyone has a piece of chrome or a mod that you have not added. Your wife will find you hunched over your computer late at night, searching the twilight zone of the internet for that one thing.....that one modification that will make your CVO the best looking or fastest or best sounding.
Be brave. You are no the first to go down this path and, rest assured, you will be followed by many others. The glistening paint and the lure of bigger engines draws you in. You are hooked as soon as the deposit is made and there's no turning back. You will be riding 2up from now on, because my friend, you have a monkey on your back. The only way to soothe the beast is to be "in the wind" every chance you get. The more miles you ride, the symptoms start to subside. Before you know it. you are at peace with your addiction. You realize that you will never be rid of this curse, but, the sweet sound of that motor and the feeling of freedom is worth the price.
Now you can be proud of you affliction. Stand with us and proclaim to the world that you are one of the few...the proud...CVO owners.
May the motorcycle world bow before you, for they know, that you have spent more money, more sleepless nights, more afternoons arguing with dealers over bad paint jobs, disappearing radio displays, bad motor mounts, leaking oil coolers .......on a motorcycle that costs twice as much as any other motorcycle in the free world.
Welcome to the club. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
