I guess I care, LOL.  I have a 100th anniversary fatboy, and a 100th anniversary Dress shirt.

I have a 110th CVO Road Glide on order, and a 110th anniversary dress shirt.

I do not have anything 105th anniversary though.

When I bought the Fatboy, it was to keep.  Not to make money, not as a collector item, but because I thought it would be neat to have and ride a 100th anniversary bike.

Getting the 110th CVO King because I like it.  I plan to keep it like the fatboy.

Nah!!! It's worth more w/the stock hinges. ;) :D :D

Plus the bike didn't come w/a TP to begin with so really don't matter as it was an accessory not original equipment. :-\

I have one of the 105th Anniversary models and I couldn't care less about the anniversary (105???). I just loved the bike so I broke down and bought it. It was calling to me!

Dave, I agree.  Get what you want and keep it.  Anybody buying one of these (or any other "special" model for that matter) for an investment just ain't thinking long term.

:soapbox: Yep, you may do like the guy on the 3rd party seller post that has the new used..sorry...#1 of 900 anniversary model CVO and make a killing from some poor sap that thinks they have something.  They do have something...an over priced motorcycle that won't be worth more than any other used bike in a year (or less)....done bit--in' now

Ya gotta like and RIDE what you buy.  Can't wait to see the pics when you get it... :bananarock:

Yep, I Kind of always wanted a King.  I use to think my first touring bike was going to be a King, swore I would never ride a road glide, yet that was my first touring bike, and my favorite.

The 110th CVO King is being bought to Keep, just like the Fatboy.  It is not an investment, except in that fact it will increase my happiness or quality of life.  I plan to keep it a long time.  I plan to ride it too, thinking of doing a little motor work to make it a real fun bike.

But I did want a 110th bike and have been planning a while to do so.

As the NEWBIE said in his reply "you have to pay to play" I know and believe me if you look in my garage you will see that I get that (Corvette Grand Sport, 2013 Shelby GT 500, Prowler, Tbird, and a few other toys). I have owned as many as 5 Harleys at the same time, that is not the point. I understand that my 2009 is a few years old, but I traded my 06 CVO for the 09 for 8K. or about 50 cents a mile. What happened that it is now costing almost twice that. Is it because it is an Anniversary Model? WHO CARES about Harley's 110 birth day? BFD! Anyway I ordered AFTERMARKET parts and have decided to upgrade some of inferior crap that came from the factory (suspension, bars ext.

In addition to the two HDs that I currently have, I also have a 110th Anniversary Triumph Bonneville (I know…who cares). Bought the bike not because it was a 110th, but I wanted a Bonneville and liked the colour and few extra bits that came on the anniversary model. I have already modded it extensively.  In short I bought it to ride and the "limited edition" really means nothing to me.

I had a conversation with the sales manager at the dealership.

Macon HD charges MSRP, $300 doc fee, freight, TTL.  It doesnt matter if your buying a Sporty or a CVO.

He has regular customers who trade every year, so on trade they get around what they owe.

The guys who storm out mad are the ones who overpaid at another dealer and are 3-4-5-6k upside down.

Great South HD in Newnan GA has a 2013 CVO RoadGlide, not a Anny, for $36,800 + doc + setup + TTL.  They put it on the floor Friday and expect it to be sold by COB today.

Thats $3500 more than Macon HD is selling the same bike for.

Why would a guy pay more than MSRP when there are other dealers that dont tack on a premium or additional BS fees?

Darn! I wish I had known that each year was an anniversary model.  I got sucked into the H-D hype on the 105th anniversary model and could have been just as "special" if I had bought a 2007 or 2009.  Oh well,  screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice . . .  :-[

First, Thank you for your service.

I agree, I have traveled much of the world in my 20 years in the Navy and then working after the Navy in Korea and Angola.  Many places the people have no hope, no future.

I bought a new 105 year Anniversary Ultra in late 2009 because the dealer could not sell them, I got an awesome deal ($20,000 OTD), and i loved the color.   Since then i've done so many upgrades and i dont think it now classfies as an Anniversary Bike.  I simply bought because i liked it...

I say - Just buy what you like and what suits your fancy     :2vrolijk_21:
