Pics of the inside of your Cargo Trailer
« on: September 14, 2012, 08:22:51 AM »

I would love to see the inside of some of the great ideas people have on how they set up the inside of there cargo or utility trailer that they use to haul there bikes in. I just purchased a trailer that is a 7X12. I have the removable chalks already mounted but was looking for ideas in lighting and shelves or a cabinet. It's a 2005 United Expressline Super Hauler that I picked up pretty cheap. I just wish it was a 14 ft instead. Thanks in advantice for any advice.

Here's my 7X12 Haulmark Low Hauler ready for loading. I took out the cheap chocks that came with the trailer and put in 2 Condor removable chocks. They work much better. Also installed a spare tire, a cabinet to hold stuff, a rack for helmets and jackets, a rack to hold the tie downs, a couple of plastic bins to hold stuff, and a bunch of lighting options.

Photo of the cabinet. You can also see one of the several blue LED portable lights I purchased. They work well for getting light where you need it. I have some attached to the ceiling with magnets, some hanging on bars and a few in the cabinet.

Photo of the two storage bins. I bolted the bottom one to the floor so it won't move and bungee the top one to the bottom one. Provides a great place for some tools, bumpers, cleaning supplies and other stuff you can't live without.

Photo of the tie down storage solution. Got the bar, put a piece of clear plastic on the wall behind so the wall doesn't get beat up and a bungee on the bottom to keep them stretched and not thrashing around.

Spare tire mounted on inside rear curbside. Also hung a few flashlights on the wall.

Another flashlight and a battery run closet light mounted to the wall. When you need light, you can never have enough!

Loaded up and ready to roll. This trailer gets used once a year when my wife and I take a trip for a week with the dogs. She doesn't like to ride long distances so we find a nice home to rent and stay for a week and ride around the area. This year, we went up to a lake just west of Grand Marais, MN. Trailer works just great, BUT, I'd rather be riding!

As often and as far as I can but when we take the pups and travel a ways and stay for a while, we trailer the bikes and ride when we get there.
