CFR riders
« on: November 07, 2012, 09:02:18 PM »

Any long term riders with the CFR set up. I am happy with mine and had them on for about 6 months. Thinking about getting it tune and lower the idle to 900-930. Leaning towards thundermax set up and go from there. So far it runs strong from idle on up but does  decel pop occasionally and although it will idle different, depending on temp, it never idles erratic. The header pipe is stock and I don't plan on changing that it just seems to work well with the pipe. Well just thought I'd give my Two cents worth. Not a perfect runnier but ill get er Der!

Thanks,
Glad to hear your happy with your CFR set up seems like good numbers, I too think keeping the stock is a good option.

Thinking about this slip on. Just to be clear...stock headers are better? Too free flowing otherwise. If that is the case then I would need a tune with just slip ons? Sorry for all the questions but I had a HO pro pipe on previous bike and hated the loss of low end torque. Don't want to make same mistake.

I think those are pretty good numbers with your set up.  Good torque numbers.

Don't make the same mistake I did when I first installed my cfr's, they are side specific. I didn't realize it until I was starring at one of the pop rivets on the outboard side. When they are installed correctly you wont see any pop rivets. Just thought I would save you a little time. Enjoy, I did !!!!!
