freezing weather will kill an already borderline battery, but too many discharges due to ignition being left on will shorten battery life significantly.  The new lithium batteries are interesting, but I'll wait for the price to get real.  They're overpriced now, IMHO.

Deka is the way to go and don't pay for the HD logo.

Online for $100. Got mine at Batteries Plus for $140 cause I needed it that day!
Less expensive than HD at $180.

Is there any big difference between Big Crank and Deka? Not sure if I'm gonna buy right now or wait til March/April seeing that it is turning to winter here in Michigan. I'd hate to buy it now and sit on it for 4-5 months.

It's the same battery.  Deka is the name the manufacturer (East Penn) uses, but they sell the same battery to many other companies who use their own brand names.  The same thing is found in the automotive segment, where one battery manufacturer may make your DieHard on the same line as the Motorcraft and Auto Zone and GM and whatever brands.  There are very few actual battery manufacturers in this country, many fewer than there are brand names on the shelves.

I installed the shorai lithium-iron (not ion) battery on my '09 ultra and was not happy with it.  I had to bend the harley battery cable terminals to make them fit the battery posts, the multi-pin connector for the special battery charger is not weather resistant, and the battery would barely the engine below 40 degrees, and sould not start it at 35 degrees.  On the plus side, the battery was far lighter that stock.

I went to batteriesplus and got the same battery from manufacturer of the OEM and discount compared to the HD price

I went the same route.  Those batteries are identical in every way except the batteriesplus is white and doesn't say Harley on it.
