I remember him saying three!

That's why he is so experienced with taking off that fairing!

OK, yes I am on my third set of Hogtunes.

Set one, left speaker would cut out.  Power off the unit a while, then turn it on and the speaker might work.  Moved it to the right side, still a problem.  Pez sent new set, went to the UPS store to send the old set back.  Second set failed on the way home, again one speaker.  Received set 3 two days later.  Installed set three, still have set two (one good, one bad).  Just after leaving for the Valley, lost both speakers on the way to York.

Stock speakers were never a problem, may try Polk Momo with a seperate crossover.

I do believe that my Head Unit may be a problem, but since the stock speakers work, HD won't touch it.

You know Bill

I hate to say this but I was ready to buy the Hogtunes but am now sitting on the fence.
And it's giving me a wedgy!

I just don't want to take (based on your experience) that fairing off but one time.

And also,,, great #s on the SEEG!

Yep I caught the loose crip straight away (I read it in a thread before I had mine). I tighted em up before I installed the speakers. I took them out today and put the stockers back in. Unless I can get some assurance that these things will last I'm going to ask for a refund. Theres nothing worse than having something break out on the road. I want a reliable set of speakers. An inferior stock set is better than a set that quits workin on the road!!!

So what fried on yours?

You guys may or may not remember, but right after I got my first set, they went out when AK and I rode up to Yosemite.  I rode all the way home with nothing!  I was pizzed!

Pez sent me another set and I pulled the fairing again (that was really no big deal, once I'd done it the first time) and put the second set in.  I can say that I've had them for a few weeks now and I blast them all the time (cause I'm getting old and hard of hearing).....ask HD Dude.  Up in Reno this weekend, the poor guy had to be subjected to whatever I was playing, at the lights, side by side riding, etc.

Anyway, my point.......even going through all those hassels, these speakers are well worth all that (once you get a good set).  Like I said before......the best $100 bill that I ever spent on this bike! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Just FYI, mostly for hd-dude's sake since he sounds like he'll be contacting him soon, I saw this posted by PEZ over on the Delphi Harley Electra Glide Garage site (sorry, naitram, I'll never go there again, lol!):

"My family and I will be travelling to Western Canada on Sat the 14th to attend a family funeral, and will not resume shiping till were back on the 24th. By then the rears should be here for you Ultra guys

"We will be checking emails, and answering them as usual, we just cannot ship."

I thought I would share the response from Hogtunes on my speaker problem:

"On about 2% of our customers bikes, we have had a similar issue that was NOT due
to packaging. It is our intention to make this right for you, and on behalf of
HOGTUNES, apologize for this. We have been doing testing which is now been
signed off, so we feel we can eliminate this 2% issue.

Due to a death in my family, we are closed till this coming Monday. Upon our
return from Western Canada, we  can ship a set to you at no charge, or if you
would rather, we will offer you a full refund.

The speakers with the mods are about 60 days away. Normally we would ship
replacements without question, but this family situation came very quickly.

Please reply to us with your decision, and we will make it happen. Hope to hear
from you soon---and sorry again

PEZ"

I have not yet decided to get a replacement set from them now or wait for the modified set 60 days away [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

If it means that's the last time you're in the fairing on account of speakers, I think I would wait.

Hey There!

I got word the upgrades will be done this weekend. I have given the go ahead to
air a bunch over. I will have a date hopefully today when I will have them. It
will not be too long, and if it is OK would like to send you a pair of those.

I will automatically send upgrades to guys with SEEG's since they have the  most
powerful radio.

The normal radios have barely caused any greif at all

Cheers---PEZ
