How not to park your car

If you park your car taking up two spots, be prepared for someone calling you on it.  :2vrolijk_21:

I did that exact same thing to a Corvette owner at a restaurant.
After our group finished our meal, we went back outside, and a police officer was standing with the Corvette owner.
The Corvette owner yells "move your @&$%@* car!", and I say "no".
The officer asks (nicely) if I could move my car and I said "I had a few beers with my meal, so instead of driving, I'm going to catch a ride home with my friends."
The Corvette owner says "I'll move it out of the way", and I said, "You can't even park your own car between the lines, you expect me to trust you to drive/park my car?"
As I handed my keys to one of my friends, I told the officer "I can't believe you haven't given him a ticket for illegal parking, or for being an asshole and wasting your time."
My friends all bust out laughing, and I did get a chuckle out of the officer!

Many times the problem is a result of the businesses wanting to squeeze in more cars so they narrow the parking spots when they mark the lines.
Being a large person who drives a full size truck I understand wanting to take two spaces but I try my best to not park that way. I have on occasion had to rely on a skinny friend though to get my truck out from some numb nuts who has no consideration for others and parked too close to give themselves more room to get in or out.
I wish they would go back to the full size parking spaces.......

I have seen where this "education" of a parker has led to vandalism to the close car or a fight, Is it really worth the trouble to reeducate them?

In many jurisdictions an officer can't issue an improper parking ticket on private property unless the vehicle is in a handicapped parking spot or in a fire lane.
Now how about those folks who park in handicapped spots simply for being lazy or they don't want to get their hair wet etc........

I remember in my younger days parking at an angle across two spaces to protect my new cars, but at least I was decent enough to take spaces further out in the parking lot and not up front.  Then I just started parking way out in the lot where there was no one within 30 yards.  Funny thing about that, when I'd come back out there would always be some jackazz parked right next to me.  So now there were two cars side by side that had no one else within 30 yards.  I suppose if you really want to insure that no one will park too close and ding your car, you need to drive an old beater that no one else would ever want to park near.

I always look for an end spot 30 yards out so that at least one side is guaranteed to be protected from all the azzholes!  :sauer021:

Even though a natural tendency is to call them out on being an azzhole - be careful.  Something like this happened here a couple years ago right in front of a very nice Italian restaurant.  When the two folks got into an argument one got out his gun and shot the other dead.  There are lots of crazy folks out there and you never know when you'll run across one.

When I drive my nice car, I park out in the back 40, as far from every one as possible.

My truck or impala gets parked up front.  That Dually needs full space, to keep tire in on both sides of the space.

I have been known to do what the jeep driver did to people who think they need two spaces up front when in my old impala.

Funny how the cops can ticket for parking in a handy cap space on private property, but not for improper parking, taking up two spaces.
