Here is the last of the summary of the "103 Muscle Kit" with the Thundermax installation until such a time as the bike actually spins a dyno. For curiousity's sake that will happen. But it's not a priority.
Pretty much everything else has been asked about, discussed or detailed somewhere along here. A couple of us have asked about the impact on fuel mileage though. Had a chance to do about a 200 mile run this afternoon that was all highway, no headwinds, even terrain and pretty much all with the cruise locked on. So as good of an mileage measuring run as I'm likely ot find.
Remember this hardware upgrade is just making the stock stuff better. It's still just a 103. Actually a .005 over 103; but not enough difference there to worry about. So the differences are the heads reworked, the pistons, the cam and the Thundermax system.
Prior to this work the bike got 35-38 mpg in most riding. For whatever reason it loved altitude and did significantly better over 4000-5000 feet. But in standard riding in standard terrain it did 35-38.
Riding today in 6th gear at about 2800 RPM and 75 mph it got 36.85 mpg. So effectively it is running better with some noticably improved performance for no loss of fuel mileage. This is also with the AFR setting current set for 13.0 globally. Eventually I'll probably end up leaving that that fat at idle through 2600 or so and from about 3200 on up. But in between 2600 and 3200 for highway cruising I'll lean it out a bit from that initial setting and see what that change brings.
