ahhhhhhhhhh

Oh Mark, you mean evil SOB.  Tease me why don't you.  I think that is EXACTLY the color I got coming.  And the only thing I've seen up til now is the damned little cylinder head bridge.  The people at Sumax got to see the color (well, eventually they did after they got done dicking around and wasting time and finally fished the parts).  Diamond Heads got to see the color and their beautiful diamond cutting.  Zippers has now seen it too.

But me....?  Me?  I'm just giving everyone a credit card number waiting for all this magic to be done.  Then, thanks to my good buddy Mark, at least now I get to see what I'm so far missing  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] .

Damn that's pretty.  I did good !!

The show cut is what I have. They diamond cut the lettering on the heads, behind the spark plug & behind the lifter tubes. The cost was like $45-65 more but I can't remember exactly, but it was worth the difference. They never mentioned it to me. I asked them if they could polish the letters on the heads...Then they told me that they included that in the show cut & explained what the difference was & I told them to go for it. They also told me that they don't advertise the show cut...I don't know why...that's just what they told me. You have to ask for it [smiley=confused5.gif] Makes no sence to me either.

So the difference isn't in type of cut but how much is cut.....

We did specifically discuss diamond cutting the lettering and numbers on the heads.  I simply assumed the cut would be all the way around on the rest of it.  Behind the spark plugs I don't care about because of the bridges.  But if they get back to me and the areas behind the pushrod tubes aren't cut I really will be unhappy.

Now it's going to bug me and I'll have to call Zippers tomorrow and ask if they are cut there......

Also Don, The very bottom of the cylinders...the thick machined band on the bottom where the cylinders meet the cases. That is also diamond cut in the show cut, but not in the normal diamond cutting.

If you play your cards right and are a nice man????? I may know someone who just might be going to Zippers (weather permitting) today to drop Punkin off. This someone may just have his Cannon Rebel with him!!!!!! And this someone may just e mail you a pic or better yet post a pic for the whole gang to see.

No promises as this someone has a furnace and A/C system install today and they are calling for rain. But it may just happen.

Be Safe

THE DAWG

Hmmmm, how very intersesting?  In another thread someone mentioned possibly going to Zippers today if it didn't rain and someone else all but begged and pleaded and offered copious amounts of Twinkies of that other someone might please please please please pretty please just happen to have a digital camera with them if they went  ;D .

Oh, and Mark, on the "show cut" thing; I'm a little less worried now than I was last night.  I called Diamond Heads this morning and asked why such an inexpensive option wasn't even mentioned or offered.  The girl really didn't answer the question but did apologize.  Apparently I did get the scripting cut as that was something I had specifically discussed with them.  She said she couldn't say honestly whether at this point they knew for a fact if the rest of what constituted the "show cut" was part of my job or not though.  I did get a couple of pics of assembled units both with and without that cut though.  If I did not have the cylinder head bridges all cut and colored it would be a big deal.  But with those the difference between the two elsewhere really didn't concern me too much.

Might have been nice to have it done.  Definitely would have been nice to have been made aware of the option.  But after seeing assembled units with the other parts in front of it I'm not going to waste the time and another round of shipping parts across country to worry with it.

Thanks Mike.  That'd be sweet if it works out without being a hassle.  Would be even sweeter if they had stuff shipped back my direction by then.  But a guy has to take whatever he can get.
