Some positive in the fallout; at least of a type. As mentioned during the tirade above (felt much better afterwards too) Diamond Heads was the only vendor that did as they promised about getting product out the door. They dropped the ball on cutting the script in the heads though. But, for what it's worth, they did at least perform the service they did do very promptly, exactly on the (very fair) price point described and even a day quicker then they'd said might be the case.
I emailed them last night describing what was missed. Have a case of flu right now so actually don't have enough voice to carry on a long conversation with anyone. But emailed them with the details of the problem. Given their prior demeanor on the phone when the work was first being arranged I was optimistic they'd be good to work with in correcting the problem.
Got a phone call from someone there a half hour ago. No long winded explanations, no hassles, nothing other than "it's not in our notes, sorry, we'll have UPS pick them up and get it done." So while the other vendors had repetitive delays and excuses and annoyances and (especially with Sumax) and overabundance of attitude they just simply had a mistake. They missed one thing on the job. And they're fixing it.
Mistakes happen. Fixing it without hassle is all one can ask for. Now we'll just hope the heads survive another trip by UPS.
