Thanks again.
Can't wait to get my hands on it!

The story behind it is a bit sad so don't say I didn't warn you if you read on.

My brother taught me to ride many years ago. On the times when he was in the area we would ride together. My last ride before I had to move was my last ride with him. He lived in North Alabma and then in Daytona after divorce number 4. He died late August 2012. He owned a 2012 Road Glide Custom at that time and my plan was to put some of his ashes in the handle bar so that we could ride together again. Before I could get the title transferred over to me and everything secured his home was robbed. They got the bike, electronics, a trailer and other odds and ends. Luckily most of his personal items, the sentimental things, were still there. The bike was insured and I'm using the payoff on it to purchase the CVO. And yes, I will have the ashes put in it once I take possession.

Tony, so sorry to hear about your brother and the robbery. Your plan about the ashes is a great way to keep him in your memory and travels. Perhaps you can attend one of our CVO GTG's that way you can meet and ride with some of the fine people of this website. We have made many forever friends doing so. Hope to meet and ride with you some day.

I have the same bike.  I now have over 36K miles on her and she's running great.  The recall on the cylinder heads was the most important upgrade that had to be done.  You said that was taken care of so that's a nonissue.  Instead of a tuner that has been suggested, you may want to consider adding Xieds.  You can do a search and find many informative posts.  I have these on mine and it has all but eliminated the predetonation (pinging) that I was experiencing.  These are a very inexpensive fix and are plug-and-play so you don't have to be mechanically inclined to install them.  I have also added the IDS pulley (Isolated Drive System) to mine.  You may ask the dealer if your bike has it installed.  It eliminates the fifth gear clatter and has been original equipment on all Harley touring bikes since 2008.  I also have added a Bagger Brace and Screamin' Eagle compensator.  Again, do a search and educate yourself on the benefits of these upgrades.  The only other "issue" you may encounter is the heated grips.  If yours are working, they have either been replaced or you are one of the fortunate few.  I had two replacements and they both crapped out after a year or so.  I have since had them replaced with the non-heated Ironside grips and have opted for heated gloves instead.  You have a great bike that will give you years of good service if you take care of it properly.  Enjoy the ride.

I'll second the SE compensator, xIEDs, and IDS.  I've had the same bike for 6 years now and still love it.

Paid in full!
Brother's ashes now in the handlebars.

I have to complete the FL Safe Rider course to get my endorsement before I can ride it off the lot. The dealer is letting me keep it there at no charge. Safe Rider course is next weekend.

Anybody have insurance suggestions? My bank and H-D both use Progressive but I would like to know what others use.
