Good morning friends at CVO.....
I'd like to thank all of you for your well wishes. Brings a persons spirit up, no doubt.
Surgeon visit yesterday afternoon..... looks like some infection has started, but antibiotics to the rescue.
Somehow, when I was in the Hospital, I got the idea that it would be 4 weeks and done.........? Hmmmmm?
I guess it was the morphine listening..... Surgeon says that the average recovery time is 4 MONTHS! Holy crap..... not only is that a long time of sitting around, but my employer is not libel to be 'happy' about this. Actually, I was out for 4 months last year with spine fusion surgery, same employer( spine is great, no issues). So, I am wondering if anyone in this community can share their real recovery to this "rod in leg" situation.
Thanks again for all of the well wishes!
Sincerely,
Gearheadfmc(Tony)
Hi Tony,
I broke the Radius Bone (Main bone in your forearm) when i was in my late 20s,
I came off a Ducati 916 at about 80mph, i was so lucky! got a few burns tuff the leathers and that was about it! (apart from my arm!) as i was sliding (seemed to go on forever!) i hit a cub forearm first! luckily this flipped me up and was the only part of me that took any real impact!
As far as the recover, it was tuff and again seemed to go on forever, its just the boredom and not doing what you usually do from day to day that gets you down,
BUT!
After 3 months i fealt great and after 5 months i was back in the Gym, Boxing!
Now its just a distant memory, something i talk about in a Bar or something i think about when i want to remember that some how i got a second chance!
Soldier on with it and im sure in the not so distant future you will feel the same,
Good Luck and dont let it change your life,
Charlie
