They sell all the bolts in chrome. These will replace all the dull bolts instead of the plastic toppers.

Polished stainless would be good.  The problem with the chrome hardware is water sets inside the hex and eventually they rust. [smiley=nervous.gif]

I have used the polished stainless exclusively as I replace screws in the past.  They are a little high but for $500 you can replace all visible screws.  Shoot, we spend that much on a couple of chrome covers! ::)

Have not done the SEUC yet.  Project for this winter...

Replaced all the bolts on the wifes Low Rider with 12 point stainless bolts from www.alloyboltz.com
every bolt comes in a labeled package. They were on the bike for 2 years and no rust when we sold it. We live less than .5 miles from the ocean where everything will rust in less than a year if you don't take care of it.

I used to deal with these guys exclusively.  Their stuff is perfect.  The last time was about 6 months ago and I was told after paying for a kit that they were closed.  My money was promptly refunded but it was strange.

I checked their website and it seems like all is ok.

Maybe I'll try them again.

IF you use a bike blaster after you wash the bike you can get almost all of the water out of most all of the allen heads. This will prevent the rusting, Also another use for the infamous Sharpie pen here. They come in a metalic silver. If you do get some rusting clean it out as others have said and use the sharpie to fill inside the allen head [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I used the Toppers and they look great, I did over 100 bolts... $500.00 will only get you started with chrome hardware. The only negative I found was the Rockerbox bolts need to HD, the toppers cant handle the vibtation.

oh fer cryin' outloud.   Run ya self down to harbor freight, pick up a cheap 5" grinder.  rip off the wheels and throw them away 'cause their crap.  ($39.00)  Same store, get a polishing wheel and a tube of polishing rouge.
Now, down to the hardware store and buy a bucket of stainless nuts and bolts in the appropriate sizes.  (cheap)

Go home, put the wheeel on the grinder and make a day of it, and then stick 'em on the bike.

Now you have all polished stainless hardware, and a spare grinder/polisher that you can give to your agonizing buddy, ('cause he wants your hardware), and your into it for 150.00 bucks or a lot less, depending on your hardware supply chain.
