You reckon they could powder coat them and still have the script writing showing? And sense you know someone that has recently dealt with Sumax how much (ball park) would an endeavor like this cost? Can you see where this is going...... [smiley=pumpkin.gif]?

Gary, I've done a few pieces of powder coating for the old cars over the years. The cost isn't that much for standard shapes without any oddities to them. There are two places local to me that both do nice jobs (they just don't mess with anything as involved as the fins of a Harley cylinder head).
I've even used the Eastwood "home kit" on a few pieces with a regular household oven and got surprising good results. From what I've seen before I don't think the name in the cap would be an insurmountable hurdle. Spray on the powder. With an awl or some other appropriate tool clean out the lettering. Bake the parts.
It might come out ugly as hell. I'd not be afraid to at least give it a shot though. Strictly for comparison I had a couple of small block Chevy rocker covers done at a place around here last spring. So the muffler ends would be a smaller surface area. The rocker covers cost me $75.00.
