Steve,

The core then slips into the screen unwrapped?

You got it!

Steve, how quiet would you say this makes the exhaust? Both my friend and I have noticed that our CVO exhausts, re cored to your 2.0 about 15 months ago have gotten very LOUD. Looking to check and probably repack  the muffs. Thinking this screen  would be even more helpful in getting the sound level back down.
Thanks,
Dr. Scott

Looks like a much nicer option than the stock "window screen" on the earlier mufflers.
The OEM screens tend to distort and loose their shape once removed and re-installed. Generally a PITA.
These look nicer and easier to install.
I'm using about a 3/4" packing next to the outer shell and still have my "air gap" between the screen and core.

All I can say is my CVO was one of the 2 that Steve used the new screens on and the bike runs and performs great. The torc was incredible and for my taste the sound was perfect. THanks again Steve for a great job. K

I didn't see these on your website. How much are they and just call to order?

Just give Steve a call.  Price is very reasonable.  My order shipped the same day I placed it.

Your killing me! I have friends that have been calling Scuba Steve for years. Thanks Adam Sandler.

What your going to find upon disassembly is your packing all stuffed down to the end, The sleeves will hold it firmly to the outer wall.

The sound quality will return and is very smooth!

Steve,

When wrapping the sleeve how does the packing stay firmly on the sleeve with out bunching up? can you spray the wrap with adhesive or is that not needed

From what I can tell the sleeve has to be curled inward slightly to install.

Once in the outward pressure retains the packing in place.

Something else to order!

You nailed it! The sleeve is spring loaded. You wrap it tightly with the OEM material and slide it while keeping it compressed.
When you let go it's not moving anywhere. If you have 2012 mufflers that are getting louder, open them up and you will most
likely find most of the packing down at the exit end in a ball. The sleeves are the cure.

Begs the question, when will the sleeves become an integrated part of the cores?

Here is what the packing looked like with 5800 miles on my 2013 CVO King, just like Steve described.  It was very tight and hard to get out of the can.  I will be calling and ordering the screens.

Great picture Dave! Thanks for posting.
This is a perfect example of what we don't want have inside our mufflers, all the packing down in one end bunched up. Check out the color change
midway.
