Ginger is beautiful, Howard! Too bad she ain't the FAST COLOR tho... :2vrolijk_21:

Oh, I'm sorry Ken but I thought she WAS the fast color........ ;D :D ;) :2vrolijk_21:

Long live the Honey Badger, brother

Life expectancy....I will tell y'all this.  If I had kept that 'Busa I bought a few years ago (talk about a wild hair moment), my life expectancy would have been WAY less.  'Cause that baby was fast.  Still, never had anybody stop and stare at it (and it actually was a beautiful bike...blue/silver, even Chip would'a liked it.... ;D ) like they have ANY of the Harleys I've owned over the years.

Here I am I again agreeing with everything Ken said.
But I have discovered an important fact.
Ken is a closet red bike lover.
He can't hide it anymore!

SBB

Only because they didn't MAKE the Eliminator in a proper ORANGE, Chip! Or maybe they just forgot to put some yellow in the paint!
But full disclosure...  red IS my second-favorite color...  :cherry:

Agreed, Howard! If I had kept that Eliminator, I very likely would have killed myself on it eventually. I saw this black one at a stop on the Dragon last year, and of course spent the better part of an HOUR talking with the guy while my impatient riding buds GLARED at me.  He had bought it in pieces for $1400, and had completely rebuilt it. It was beautiful... I got all misty-eyed just looking at it. I even got to sit on it, too!

For a brief few moments, I got to relive my largely-misspent youth... back when I was a bulletproof young idiot, and the world was my oyster! Now I'm an old idiot, and oysters give me GAS!

You know, it's probably best that I just let that one lie, Howard... I'm in enough trouble as it is...  :o

No problem I kept the Warrior so I have both and your right about the fact that people do make a big deal about the Breakout but never the Warrior even if it is purple. Its just a little agrivating having paid 30 grand on a bike and it isn't as fast as my old one and it will give me more problems. Its purdy though and it handles well.

You don't yet know what problems you will encounter with your Breakout. You will in a year or two tho. Only then can you make that value judgement.

Nobody buys - or should ever buy - a Harley for speed. Harleys are the Cadillac of motorcycles... and neither are built for speed the way you buy them. Harley is a huge target for the EPA, and they have to make the big air-cooled engines run super-lean to pass the increasingly-tough emissions regs. This totally robs power and makes them run super-hot. Everyone knows that's easy to fix tho with proper cams, pipes, and a good TUNE... which is why nearly everyone DOES fix it.

BTW... I'll bet the chicks really dig your Breakout! And that's probably the REAL reason you bought it anyway, yeah?  :coolblue:

Congrats on your long marriage! But Breakouts are unabashed chick magnets... and you know it!

We just celebrated 8 years together on April 1. We celebrate on April Fools Day because that was our first date in 2005. We actually got married on June 18, 2005... in Vegas... BY ELVIS! I had wanted to do that originally, but my wife said at the time "that will NEVER happen..."  Well guess what? It DID! So NEVER say never...

Wow, you two had a faster courtship than my DH and me! We met August 1, 2009, he proposed 10-20-09, and we were married 1-10-10....also in Las Vegas, but no Elvis!

My first & last CVO, Scarlett, arrived 6-1-12. I always remember my mom while riding.  She had smarts with a spirit of independence & adventure. "You Gotta LIVE!", was her motto; her favorite color red, and she loved BLING.

great question but our bikes break down in hundred dollar pieces or more kind of a slow death.
perhaps you could ask at how many miles  was the top end rebuilt, cam tensioner replaced  etc
I have the 103 in my 2003 flhrsei2 with 26k miles and running strong

:) - I put in the Updated Billet CAM Plate with Hyrdaulic Tensioners and Larger Oil Pump and New CAM Bearings at 24,000.
The OEM CAM Tensioners didn't look bad, but I figured one less thing to be concerned about for some time.
At 24K the Compensator Nut loosen a wee bit, just enough to chew up the Cover  Apparently the early 2003 FLHRSEI2's had a different TQ Spec# tahn the later ones.

I have 40,000 on my 2003 FLHRSEI2 now and Zero issues since the Compensator Nut Issue.
In Fact it runs so well that I am very leary about booting up the TQ and HP for fear it will Not run as smooth.

I have been told by Local Wrench that 100,000 is not far fetched with proper Maintenance.

:o :o :o - As far as the Riders Go - Tim Allen in his Michigan Adds gives up roughly 25,000 Mornings (68.5 yrs).

72K on 2010 SEUC.

Uses maybe 1/4 qt between 5K changes, always with Syn3 (I have lifetime service from the dealer).

Had some issues, but never with the engine itself.  Alternator, Primary issues - all covered under warranty.  Have never broken into the motor.

Have Heavy Breather intake, V&H Monster Ovals.  Run it hard, it likes to rev between 3K and 5K and that's how I ride it.

I hope to get 150K or better.

I met my wife at a Monkeys concert at Astroworld. She was a sweet little 16 YO and I was a 19 YO stoner chithead going to community collage. She should have listened to her momma when she told her she could do better. 8)
