Ken, I couldn't agree more. If there is no Guinness on draft handy, Newcastle is my go to. Don't have any use for light/pale/tasteless beers. I don't drink much but when I have a beer, has to be dark and one of the two mentioned.
As for the pool, looking very good, brother. I know you are ready to try it out.

Then we have an accord, brother. Guinness is absolutely
nonpareil! I also like a Black and Tan... with Harp Ale on the bottom, poured properly so that it's not mixed on serving. Beamish Stout is also good, but hard to find here.
A friend of mine once said that I like my chocolate, my beer, my cigars, my coffee, and my women ALL DARK AND BITTER! But that was
pre-Mary. I still like the other things that way, tho...

And yeah... can't wait to jump in and not freeze to death! We are waiting on a flow sensor for the heat pump. I really want to get that thing working to warm up the pool quickly. Nice thing about a heat pump vs. a pool heater is that you can also COOL the pool down in the blistering heat of July and August. It was 106 here last July, and most pools were over 90 degrees... almost like a hot tub and not very refreshing... but far better than nothing!
