OK... One last post and then I'll let this thread go to the Dead Thread Shed...
Just wanted to post pics of the vintage TGI Fridays brass foot rails that the redoubtable
Mr. Wizard salvaged more than a decade ago from a closing store at the Prado in Atlanta and subsequently stored in his garage, half-forgotten - until he remembered them and graciously donated them to me for the Badger Bar. Wiz is a self-professed
corner leaner... so that right corner is reserved for his
exclusive use whenever he is in residence.
I didn't really design the BB to accommodate foot rails, but they mounted up pretty well after some non-trivial elbow grease with the Brasso!
The really cool thing about these rails is their connection to my younger days. I trained here in Atlanta with IBM in '80-'81 as a handsome young stud

, and there is a very good chance that my cowboy-booted feet (Urban Cowboy was all the rage way back then...) may have rested on one or more of these very rails during our numerous and well-oiled nightly outings after classes... as we frequented many a nightspot along the Perimeter, rather consistently blowing our $15/day per diem allowances on adult beverages in lieu of food during those three 5-week-long training stints. But we were young and
bulletproof back then!
Cheers!
Ken
