Or you can just step up to one of these pretty little badges... It came with a solid extra 40hp and 15-20 extra ft.lbs. of torque...  :bananarock:

That's gotta be great fun to ride.  My buddy put one on his Road King and he's a maniac on wheels  :D

Boy howdy the big motor is just the begining.  I got about 6500 in the motor building a 124 S&S with 4 5/8 storke crank.  That's with ported 110 heads and 58mm throttle body.  Already had the Woods cam I wanted with the gear drives for another 800.  Then you best freshen up the compensator for 250 and also maybe the SE clutch for another 250.  And have read about issues with tranny weakness so for another 2800 I got a Baker DD7 with bigger bearings and changed the inner primary bearing.  Then get rid of the ratcheting chain adjuster for another 190 from Baker. And up the cost of  new frictions because when I got the clutch they didn't come with the one I ordered for another 130.  And then I don't know what I'm going to do about the belt.  Some say it will hold up some don't .  I'm not real crazy so maybe it will maybe it won't.  $10k is close and I'm doing most of the wrenching besides case boring and head porting. I'm having fun now and will get a return on my investment with big smiles and a puckered butt cause it sure won't be on money return when and if I ever sell.

While reading the post on making more power I was thinking why not just buy a SS 124 for 6 Gs and get it over with. You will pay way more adding power to the HD110 and the SS is still built with better parts for around.
sounds like a great idea and think I may try that out

No way unless you do the work yourself to put in a 120 or 124 for under $10K. Real number will be over $12 by the time you do it right. Been looking into for quite a while now. The other side though is that if you do the S&S you will have a great reliable fun motor if you do it right.

Decided to go with Tman Thumper upgrade after working on this for almost a year. Just cant justify "going all in" on the 124. Hoping to end up in the real mid 120's on both.

I haven't had much time to be on the forums lately but I had a S&S 124 with the 66MM throttle hog dropped in a few months ago.  I had to rebuild the primary again anyway and wanted the RHTD off due to the noise. The color doesn't match but it's not a real big deal for me.  It's an 08 with over 60,000 miles.  Without the sound of the Rineharts the 124 feels different but one look at the speedometer tells me it's moving along much quicker than it ever could.  Less noise from the power plant and much less heat is just what I needed to enjoy another 60K.  Can't blame a guy for his personal choice of wanting to stay all Harley, but as for me I'll change anything I can within my budget to get a better ride with more dependability.  I have changed out so much it is obvious that I should have purchased a bike that offered that right from day one.  There are not very many stock bikes on this or most Harley forums, as for myself I'm guilty of thinking with my heart and how I felt when I was on my Harley.  I should have thought about using my brain and wallet to make my choice.  Obviously that is only my personal opinion.  I don't need a certain bike to complete my personality or how I am perceived.  I'm just another guy on a bike.

If you are going with the S&S 124, I think you will be happy with your choice.  My Dyno numbers are almost exactly like the ones posted by GMR.

I would go with the S&S, from what I've heard, the S&S has a better bottom end and a warranty. jmho

As soon as the builder figures out whether he can find some "core" heads ton swap out or I will need to send mine in. If I have to send mine in I will wait until the beginning of Sept before I have the bike down that long. I have a son that plays football at Central Missouri and I will be flying to his games each weekend so I wont be able to ride during the season anyway. If he can find "cores" then I will go as soon as he gets the heads done.
