...for what? to keep up with the Jones? If they come up with a 9 speed and reverse in 3 gears with a TV and uplink of some kind I plan on riding my 07 until I can't or my wife wants it.

here! here! This one's for you.[smiley=drink.gif] .... While I can certainly sympathize with the "I want one of everything" crowd, my scoot was "all I ever wanted" when I bought it, and it will certainly remain good enough for me til the day I die. They can come up with 347 cubic inch motors with eleventy-bazillion HP and 3-foot wide tractor-trailer rear tires - I'll stay with my machine.

I did notice that the local stealer is trying to compete with MoCo in the original concept of the CVO. I was down there yesterday and saw on the floor 2 models, '07 Softail Custom (FXSTC) and '07 Street Glide (FLHX), each completely customized with #/100 paint sets, "Blade" custom wheels, braided cables and a whole lot of chrome. Asking price for these ($18k-ish MSRP) bikes? mid-30's. All work done at the stealership.

It will be interesting to see if this stealer trend catches on, and how it affects (if at all) the CVO community.

This may be a growing trend I've seen several dealers take a new bike and fully customize it and put it on the floor. Only down fall is if they can't find someone that totally likes all the things that they have done that bike may be stuck on the floor for some time.

We've got a dealer here in San Diego County ( El Cajon H-D) that even puts CVO parts on some of the bikes they customize. Course that isn't really that big a deal since most of the stuff introduced on one year's CVO's is available in next years parts catalogue.

I second that emotion.  When I think about the price of "upgrading" versus the grin factor of that bike versus what I've already got, the two just don't match.

Same deal down here.  I've seen some of the dealer customs that were really sharp, and some that I would think wouldn't be too appealing, but when I go back a few weeks later, all of them are gone so somebody bought them, sharp or not.

Well I got the bling all done on the new RG. As soon as I get the motor bumped up to a 103, I'll be as happy with it as if it were a CVO and my wallet will be at least $7k heavier.

I was licky when I found my Ultra. I made the guy put the sold sign on it and take a picture and email it to me. As soon as he did that the service mgr asked him who had the folder on the bike because the owner wanted to drop another 4 or 5 K in extras to sell the bike for waht 50K Are they out of their minds? Sorry I just answered my own question.

I love it the way  it is and I will add the creature features as I see fit.
Keep safe

The local dealer (fraziers) has been doing the Dealer customs for at least the last 3 years, my favorite was a RK with the Jims 120 and custom paint with chrome everything , the problem was it was in the low 30's and while you could argue it was more exclusive than a CVO it wasn't one. They all sell rather quickly as they do them tastefully.

I know I'm in a very small minority, but no V-rod in the line up? Ouch....or does this just mean my ride is just more rare? ;D
