CVO failed - selling it - moving on
« on: October 01, 2006, 05:48:19 PM »

On Sep 21 my CVO ate the stator and thereby "melted" starting a chain reaction charging system failure.

Sorry to hear about your experience.  I would be equally frustrated and upset.  I would probably try to find a better service department rather then change brands - but I understand why you are.  I absolutely hate poor service.  Poor service has caused me to stop doing business at two local car dealerships and at one area Harley dealership.  These guys just don't get it.  All I ask is you treat my issues seriously, give me accurate information, CALL ME if something you have told me changes. Have things done when you tell me they will be done - OR CALL ME.  Don't treat me like I am clueless, because I am not.  Treat me with respect.  Good service should be the highest priority of any dealership.  No suprises!!...  seems simple, but usually isn't.

Drebbin,
Sorry to hear of your misfortunes at dealership, and you've decided to sell your CVO. I would contact corporate and let them know of this issue also. Don't let this lack of poor customer service go without someone above the dealership knowing. I would call and write a letter of this incident explaining because of this, what you've decided to do. Don't look at as if your just one person, one incident; remember one vote can change an election.  Maybe this one complaint could change there rating which will have repercussions.

Man I hate to read this. This seems to be more the norm anymore. I had a wing for about 2 months. 2006, Nav, ABS, Premium Sound and Comfort Package. Could not get it to fit me. I hope yours fits you but if you have bought into "The Family" I'm pretty sure you will be back (to the brand). No disrespect intended. The GW is a fine machine but it is far from the same. The sound, feel, ride............. and lets not forget the trips to all the dealers we have not been to before. ;D I really hope (really) that your local Honda dealer is MUCH better than the ones we have in our radious. Good luck to you bro!!

DREBBIN,
So sorry to hear the bad news, I hope you get it worked out in your favor. Sure hope you follow up with corporate.
I am very fortunate to have a great dealer here in Columbus, GA. I am moving to N.C. in December and hope for the same, but friends have put a bad bug in my ear, and I am already dreading it. So if I needed, I'd make the 7 hour trip back down to Chatahoochee.
  Anyway, best to you Friend!

I had bad experences with a few dealers, first with my 05 ultra, seemed like every time I took it in for something minor they ended up screwing it up. (putting big gashes over both pipes when tring to adjust rear belt & sending my sterio off for repair and leaving a big hole in my dash for 2 months). I then changed shops, to find the new one was no better!!!! I went back to the first shop after learning they had hired a new tech one with 20 plus years of experance under he's belt.also when I left the shop I let managment Know that I was looking for a new place to take the bike. since my return, I have been treated with respect, only the experenced tech works on my bike. and everyone there knows me by name and are friendly and helpful when I come into the shop sure it takes a little while on some parts ect. but lets face it we do not live in a perfect world!!!!!! I ride a HD becouse I will not ride any other brand never have never will!!!!! It is a lifesyle not just a motorcycle!!! as I ride through the vally of hondas suzukis, bmws I shall fear no evil becouse my HD IS THE BADDEST MOTHER F---ER AROUND!!!!!! PS good luck on your gw ;D
