Just how many vendors do you people think answered in this thread? Consider that if "vendors" did stop in just how much info and help wouldn't show up in these forums. They are generally people, riders,  just like you. Of course, you can always rely on screwdriver joe and hammer hank. After all, if they post it on the internet then it must be true. Just my opinion and you know what they say an opinion is worth.

I understand your point.  There is a line to be heeled.  Though as a community the non-commercial members here are surprisingly well informed.  Having said that I understand the benefit of the commercial community.  I just wish they were sometimes more community and less commercial.

Would be good if the vendors were more regulated and on the same playing field. For example, most shop owners on here have signed up (forced maybe?) to become site vendors but others have been allowed to openly promote and discuss their products without becoming a site vendor.

A good example of this would be Mr. Steve Cole, this forum has sort of become the new TTS support forum, but yet Mr. Cole does not have Vendor in his avatar. Why are so many of the smaller, one man shops so strongly encouraged to become vendors here, but a business as large as TTS is allowed to post openly on here for free?

Vendors don't pay to be present here.  The requirement for their participation is that, for allowing them to exercise a commercial presence, they offer the membership a discount on the services they present.  Again, it's a "community" thing.  And you're right, it's not universally inspected or enforced.  Though given their number that, too, would be a difficult thing to do anymore.

Tsani,

I agree with your statement in general. However if the reason for coming to the site is to rehash issues shut down on another site, I fail to see the value.

I appreciate the members that are also vendors that offer sound advice to an issue being discussed.  Steve @ Fullsac and Jim @ Metal Dragon are two such examples.  Both of these gentlemen are extremely helpful.  I've never heard either one put down another vendor or member for having a different opinion.  Neither has ever been demeaning to some really  stupid questions.  I know, I've asked the questions.   :)

The topics question is a loaded one from the beginning.  Best, is a subjective topic and opens the place up for opinions.  No way to really prove best.  I became a vendor not to push my services on the site, but to be allowed to be able to talk about my experience in tuning motorcycles.  With out hiding the fact that I do it for a living.  Not so much trolling for business for my shop.  Probably why I suggested a tuner that was not me, based on the location of the OP.

If you have a question about the way the site is run you should ask the admin or moderators. Since you bring up this question I'll answer it publicly (as I have done privately to those that asked). Steve doesn't sell TTS to the public however he has those that do provide the discount of his product to the forum. Since he doesn't sell and can not provide a discount of something he doesn't directly sell to the public therefore to avoid confusion and having members contact him to purchase said product he doesn't have the vendor designation.

A few other points that I'd like to bring up this site doesn't endorse any of the products/services our vendors provide (reason there are no ads on this site). We require those that are vendors give directly back to our members in the form of a discount. It would also appear that you have recently joined the site with an agenda. We are glad to have you with us but you need to leave your baggage at the door or find you way back out the door.

Is there anyone in the Midwest that is as proficient with the TTS as the two mentioned above?

Cowboy

The OP asked for someone proficient with TTS.  In my opinion, Steve Cole has the final word on this topic when it comes to directly answering his question.  All of the other B.S. is irrelevant to the OP's question.

A good example of this would be Mr. Steve Cole, this forum has sort of become the new TTS support forum, but yet Mr. Cole does not have Vendor in his avatar.

I'm not picking on you but doesn't Steve have the right to join as a regular member?  He joined as "Steve Cole" and not "TTS MasterTune".  He has expertise in the area of tuning which exceeds the knowledge of most forum members.  I don't post very often but I read the forums daily.  I appreciate the input of an expert and innovator in the area of EFI Tuning.   During the short time I've been a member, I've never seen Steve push his product over another; however, he adds support when a member has a question or issue about tuning.   Just my opinion.

Let's see you and a few others show up and look what happens. I've been here for over 5 years now and I do try and support those that ask questions and has been clearly pointed out I do not sell product.

To the others thanks for your support and I try to keep it on topic.

Attention so drawn JC.  But as written that could be applied at a whim (or not) and against most anything that happened to scratch one of y'all's itches.

Broadside warnings/threats may be easy.  But unless your intention is really broadside penalties a little more and better definition would be helpful and has been earned by the quality of the community you oversee and that community's more general effort toward making up the board you monitor.  Are you really intending to show a sword of Damocles to be left swinging over everyone's head or (even though it takes more effort and analysis from upstairs) is a scalpel the better, and perhaps more well earned, tool here?

Not JC, but... It is what it is, if a member/vendor doesn't start or participate in the recent activities then they don't have any problems... if they do then they will be dealt with. As it was also stated those that aren't familiar w/the rules of posting should familiarize themselves w/them.... plain and simple this is a privately owned forum that is run by the owner and moderators and what happens as far as it is run is done by them. Any questions/about how it is run should be directed to them by PM.

This is not completely accurate. Steve does sell to the public. Here is a page right from his website this morning. Additionally, I know several people that have purchased TTS systems directly from Steve. But, this is your forum, call it however you want. But the fact remains, Steve does sell direct to the public.
