Pictures on the road to Santa Fe

Left today at noon.  Made 250 miles today for our first overnight stay at Indianapolis.  Stopped at the Hampton and asked for a room.  All rooms booked except the family suite.  :'(. He gave it to us for the same price as a King room but with 4 beds and 2 full rooms I was tempted to put my Harley on the elevator and let her sleep on one of our 4 beds.   :P









Our goal for tomorrow is St. Louis, Missouri.

Day 2.  Weather was sunny and beautiful for our full day of riding.  We avoided rain and diesel fuel.  :'(  :P.  We made it to Columbia, MO., today. Just over 400 miles since leaving Indianapolis.  Tomorrow will be Kansas City where we will get on the Santa Fe Trail.

Here are some random pictures from today's ride!   :)

Poor Renay....she will never live that one down.  Looks like great weather for y'all so far...hope the trend continues.  Look forward to the rest of the trip pics.

Day 3 was a real challenge.  We did make it to Wichita, Kansas fighting winds that were strong enough to blow you off the road.   :'(.  Our total so far is 985 miles.  :2vrolijk_21:  It will take 1,500 total miles to get to our hotel in Santa Fe.  We were going to take the Santa Fe trail in Kansas City.., but that turned out to be a disappointment.   :-\.  We were on it for 15 miles and had an extension ladder blow off a van/truck and land sideways in the road and 5 miles later a dog crossed in front of us as we just averted disaster.  After stopping to gather our thoughts, we made the decision to get back on the interstate where the speed limit was 75 mph compared to the 60 on the Trail.  Only a few pictures to post today as our stops were limited.

My quest to find a pair of cowboy boots continues!   :-\.  I found this pair but they were the wrong size.





Stopped at this Harley Dealer and was amazed at the hundred's of MC's they had in inventory.



Finally in for the night exhausted!   :sleeping:
