As Don (twolane) mentioned at the gathering Saturday evening, we had intended to give Brian (103tHunDer) a plaque showing our appreciation for his incredible efforts in putting together one of the most memorable experiences of my lifetime. Unfortunately, the plaque did not arrive in time to be presented to him personally, so this posted photo will have to do for now. The history behind this plaque, for those of you who did not attend, or missed Don's eloquent speech, is that Don and I "tricked" Brian into sending us his favorite high res image of him riding The Dragon so we could use it for this plaque. The background for the image is a photo I took in the area a few years ago at sunset from Clingman's Dome, the highest peak in both Tennessee and The Great Smokey Mountain National Park at 6643 feet, and looks out on all of the mountains and roads we travelled. Personally, I think the plaque is awesome, and is a small token of how I personally feel about what this man orchestrated for each and every one who attended. The people on this site is what makes it the best place to be, and that was proven this past week in Maggie Valley.
Brian, the real thing will be on it's way to you shortly, buddy!!!
I know I am not the only one who would like to tell you how much fun I had, and none of it would have been possible without your hard work and dedication to both this forum and the great people who make it what it is. Your selfless efforts and hard work on our behalf is what made this event not just a gathering of riders, but a gathering of brothers and sisters. This is just a small way of saying "Thank You" from all of us!! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
