I don't want to be a PITA, but, does your current setup bring the engine temps down? I am not as interested in my ET for the quater mile as I am in getting the engine temps down. I have to believe the true duals, be it V&H or Rinehards, would help with the temp issue.

   Thanks,

Woop De I am quite sure the true duals will bring your temps down as well as lower some of the heat that has been hitting you in the crotch from the cross over pipe.

The free'er breathing of the engine will also add to this.  If you go with the Race Tuner or Power Commander and you put on the K&N or Zippers Hi Flow air cleaner you will be a lot happier with the temps of the engine while riding and idling.

My Pipes should be here next day or 2 the race tuner and Air Cleaner are standing at the ready to be installed upon receipt of the pipes.

HDFatboy,

Easy decision for me the 59's are a bad little cam ...  Have seen 2 of these build out with ported heads and they really do get up and go.   Biggest problem your going to find is making sure your clearances are good and the rocker boxes have been cleared appropriately as well.

Look forward to hearing how it runs.

Quote from HDFatboy Don,
As a matter of fact the temps have come down. I have not measured (should have while she was on the dyno) but there is a noticable cooler "feeling" under my a$$. It's also substantially cooler here in SW PA. Just the A/F tweaking alone made a big diff!

   Mike
Thanks for the feedback. Understand the temps in Pa, I was born and raised in Western Pa.

Shodan,

Thats great to hear, glad it worked out.  I guess Harley maybe did make them to lean, but that would be complaining now wouldnt it.

Enjoy and safe riding,

I had mine dyno'd about a month ago.  Took them 5 hours to do it and ended up with 86+HP and 107+ torque.  AFR I thought was a little high at 14.2, but when I talked to the tuner, he stated that's at WOT.  He said he would drop the AFR down to 13.whatever if I wanted him to, but I'd lose power.  He said he starts a base run after the bike is warmed up, sees how it looks, then drops the AFR down to 13.0 and works up until he achieves max hp and torque for the bike.  My bike is running great with these numbers, and it pulls like a diesel in low gear for mid-power roll-on.  Heat is not an issue, I typically run between 213-215 degrees normal riding and have gotten up as high as 255 because I was stuck in rush hour traffic and the bike was idling a lot.  I was a little disappointed in the HP rating, and he told me that for the non-stepped headers those were good numbers.  He stated the non-stepped shine more in mid-range torque, which is what I want anyway, I'm never up in the 6000 rpm range when I ride, so that high-end horsepower number looks great, but I'd never use it.  JMHO.
