The torque number seems a little low.  I would have thought that to be over 100.  How long did it take for them to dyno your bike?

Ok guys...newby here in an old body.....so take it easy on me. OK!!   :2vrolijk_21:This is my first CVO and EFI motor so I'm not really sure what to expect. What I wanted to touch on was that I've purchased the SERT/cable, keeping the stock SE exhaust system (because it's quiet and to my understanding does breath adequately) and once I obtain all the parts for the "roll your own" K&N breathing system, I'll bolt that on. Then Dyno time.

Now concerning the dyno, I'm more into the torque than HP and really want the bike to run healthy along with having a cooler motor. Right now it so frigg'n hot, that I've had to slide cardboard down from my johnsons to keep e'm from fry'n and wrecking my home life too!  I'm not $hit'n ya one bit here...

Once I get it dynoed, I'll be ready for slamming some miles. My goal is to wear as many tires out as possible before check out of this world. Our HD dealer says it will take approx 8 hours to tune. I'm guessing this is about right...right?? Also, am I on the right track in cooling the motor and keeping it dependable?  Anyone else with this setup? And if so, what's the feedback... ok with it or was it a  :oops:
Any "positive" feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hey UJ, installing your SERT and getting it Dyno'd will certainly help. Putting on True Duals (TD's) at the same time will also help. It will allow them to tune each cylinder properly, while eliminating that heat producing crossover! I'd also do the SE A/C at the same time. You might as well only do one Dyno-tune for everything. You're gonna do all this anyway, in the end! You raise a good point however. Has anyone used stock '07 mufflers without reworking them like Fullsacs, with TD's or with stock headpipes, and PC or SERT? No matter what, I would get that SERT in there ASAP. Hope this helps a little. ;) Hoist! 8)

Interesting question...nobody has brought up doing the configuration that you stated...interesting ... I don't see why it wouldn't work, but I personally don't like the sounds of the stock mufflers.  Almost sounds like a, gasp  :o, rice burner.  Understand you wanting quiet, but you might want to try the S&S SPO's with the quiet baffle, they will give you more of a throatier sound.  I would recommend the V&H ovals like I have, but they may be a tad loud if you like how quiet the stock mufflers are.  Whatever you do, like Hoist said, do it all at once, so you're not spending extra on dyno time.  5-8 hours, depending on the bike and the tuner is about the norm for a good dyno.

Thanks Hoist and RedDevil for the comebacks. I'm not sure if I can get the bike dyno-tuned before I make a quick run to Las Vegas with the wife. She has to do a HOG P.O.T. thing and I'm tagging along for the ride and to do damage control concerning the credit card.  ;D But when I get back, the bike is in for the dyno-tune. (it will then have 4k to 5k miles) I'm embarrassed to say, it's currently getting garage dust on it, I do apologize.   

I did think about the TD's but had such a bad experience with them on my RK. Lost low end in a bad way until I got ride of 'em. I also had obnoxious muffs too, (Hooker's)I just want quiet, and as mentioned, I've heard the the SE muffs will get the exhaust effectively out .  .  . unless this isn't true...? Yes...they are very quite, but it's ok. And when spring hits, I'll do more long runs than short ones, ... Sound of pipes at 70mph plus are low on my priority list if ya know what I mean. I do like the music loud though.  :bananarock: :orange:

I really would like to see if the stock exhaust, SE A/C (or Roll your   own" setup) along with the SERT will get the job done in making the bike run good and a bit cooler. I'm also dealing in the back of my mind, the warranty issues. Like I mentioned, I'm on the road and I have enough hassles in day to day life without $crewing with the dealers on the road. (My local dealer has been more than fair with me in every way. Always.) I know, that's a bit of a cop-out on my part, I just want to ride and throw miles on the road without dealing with some dealer service rep that didn't get any the night before!  ;)

Hopefully, I'm not the only one that has tried this setup and hopefully, I get some additional information on it. I do appreciate the valuable information the you two have given. It's noted and printed sitting on my desk for consideration on adjusting my thoughts. Again thanks.

Just going over old stuff that I had posted and thought I'd update this one on the SERT, SE 4" muffs, K&N filter setup. I had it dyno'd and if memory serves me right I got 108 lbs of torque and 94 hp.  Still a bit hot, but I guess that's the animal. I was told that the dyno tune with the sniffers still attached would not lower the air/fuel mixture to cool the motor down.  True???   

I was told that the sniffers would need to be pulled off then dyno'd if I really wanted to get the bike cooled down and would run better. I'm not sure if that's true since I'm not a mechanic or even close. I read a lot and when I usually get done writing down notes, I'm just as confused as when I started reading. yeah, I'm not the brightest rock in the creek when it comes to motors. (I'll take on a computer problem any day though! )

Anyway, thanks for any information to clear stuff up for me.  Anyway, the reason for my post here was to finalize what the torque/hp was for the combination that I mentioned above.

there is a way to adjust the mixture some with sert and the stock o2's - there are also some little dongles that lower the mixture a little bit by changing the voltage of the stock o2's "O2 IED 80 bux"

many dyno charts show that stock head pipes give the best low end torque - duals the best top speed - fwiw
