Jerry (grc) must be rubbing off on me. ;) :D :D Seriously though... I still enjoy and love owning a H-D... however I don't like the way that some owners have been treated by H-D and their dealers. They (some) have done their best to destroy the trust of owners of their brand... or is it that I'm just building up tolerance to the "Kool-Aid" and it doesn't get me high like the first hit? :nixweiss: ;D

Gary, if you've said before I don't remember.  Were you a rider and HD owner back in the years prior to and through the AMF time?  If so you'll remember that any long term perception of respect from the company to the individual bike owners and any sense of long term QC is both a bit of a misperception and a product of effective PR and good advertising.

I ain't that old LOL!!! ;) :D

Actually my first bike (and street bike) was a Yamaha XS1100 that I purchased in '80/'81... owned that till around '87/'88. At that time I got married, bought a house, had a baby, and sold the bike. Was bikeless from then until '99 when I purchased a '96 Fatboy. From the Fatboy I went to the SEEG. Fortunately (if you can call it that) I was riding "rice" bikes during the AMF days of H-D. As for the misperception I guess since I didn't have to live it I try (tried) to give the benefit of doubt... however I wasn't personally bitten by the "dealer/MoCo" lack of loyalty to their customers as I've matured I've learned to learn by others personal experiences and not let the same situations bite me. Granted we hear mostly the horror stories, a horror story can be turned into a happy ending if it is remedied correctly. One unhappy customer negates any positives of one-hundred happy customers.  You would think if a company was in the business of selling their product it would do all it could to not have "unhappy" customers. It is a given that no one can make everyone happy but the majority that I have witnessed that had issues they were respectful in their requests to have their bad experiences corrected with end result of them not being corrected because it is "normal... they all do that". :o ::) :P

I was thinking the same thing Gary.  And even if it holds to be true.....are the going to have a loaner bike in like model at each dealership so that when an owner's bike is tore down and they've sent the parts back to the MoCo.....the inconvience will be minamized to he owner?  Or maybe just double up on the warranty to make it right....instead of two years warranty, it'll be four years.  I mean that shouldn't be a problem if they have confidence in their product. :nixweiss:

Ohhhh......I'm sorry.....I must of dozed off....just dreamin...... :huepfenlol2:

Anybody else noticed how the mods here seem to have some SERIOUSLY BAD ATTITUDES?

Oh wait... they're still better than my attitude... NEVER MIND!

That WAS funny tho, JC...

We did much the same thing with continuing bike purchases.  Got a SEEG and then just don't do anymore.

Still can't see buying a new product from that company.  They nor what they allow of their dealer network just don't deserve my money.  Heck, I added a new Harley I'd always wanted and built it myself spending almost no money with Harley itself.  It takes a lot of effort to build a new Harley without using Harley...  :huepfenlol2:

I lost my "warm and fuzzzies" when I bough my AMF Sportster in 74.
My first harley and it left me stranded on the road more then once. Not to mention the numerous times I couldn't even get it started at home.

Nothing better then being a teenager with your harley that won't start and Dad pulls up on his SuperHawk, snickers and rides off  :'(

He use to measure my frustration by the white marks left on the street by the kickstand. Each kick start would move the bike a 1/4" or so, leaving a trial.

Ok.  I went by my local dealer.  He has several of the bikes in and I wanted to look at the ultras.  (The CVO Limited comes in tomorrow in blue).

I have two pics to post that I have't seen on the site (yet).  The 1st is of the seat.  There is a wiring harness that is very exposed (visible) between the TP and the back of the riders seat.  Regardless of moving the TP or seat forward or back, you cannot hide this.  The shot angle was on the right side of the bike, standing next to the SB and look down at the riders backrest.

The bike I looked at had a Vinyl Curtain that inclosed the area from the seat to the Tour-Pak.
