I've heard a Dremel will fix it as well.

LOL! I didn't want to go there in this case. But I've done my share of Dremelling... I dremelled the HELL out of the chrome Heavy Breather TB cover to fit behind my Big Sucker 2...

What I was saying is that you can't put the larger CVO two-bulb unit into a bike that didn't have it originally, unless you replace the shallow stock mounting bowl with the backless CVO mounting ring.

The Daymaker and T-L P7 headlights both fit fine into the non-CVO mounting bowl. It's only the deeper CVO two-bulb unit that needs the backless CVO mounting ring.

Weirder still.  I wonder why the Daymaker comes with a new mounting bowl then.

Yeah, that is weird. The T-L P7 doesn't come with any bowl or ring at all... Just the bulb.

Probably cause the Daymaker is HD & the T-L isn't. The MoCo knows the ring would have to go with the bulb for it to be re-used. They usually don't give a chit!!!   :nixweiss:

They USUALLY don't give a chit? The new SE Compensator requires the adhesive kit... that you have to buy separately!

If they include a new mounting ring, or bowl, or whatever, with the DayMaker... I would think that it would be needed... for SOMETHING! If it just requires the stock mounting bowl, then why do they include a new one with it?

To reiterate, the T-L P7 simply uses any mount... the STOCK mounting bowl, or the CVO mounting ring. NO additional part is needed to mount it, and none is included.

The DayMaker? Who knows?

BUT, the two-bulb CVO headlamp DOES DEFINITELY require the CVO mounting ring. I KNOW that!

Put the same lights on my CUSE...they were plug and play.  Didn't even have to refer to the instructions, which is the last place we go, right?

I also put the 7" truk lite on mine and didn't have to do any mods. You may want to consider the frenched trim ring though. the truk lite sticks out more than the stock hd setup.

Where do you get the frenched rim to fit the trucklite?

Definetely need the extended ring....looks mo better with it than the Phase 7 sticking out with the standard ring.  Was plug and play on mine, too.  No issues.  The dual bulb halogen uses the H7 and H11 bulbs and has two plugs.  However, those two plugs (adapter) run back to the "standard" plug that you plug the Phase 7 into.  The Halogen/stock mount works great....no issues.
You do have to leave the standard ring on as the extended one uses it for mounting....but does look better.
