If the grip and grip sensor have any "stiction",  that will exacerbate the feeling of "twitchiness".  As Willy mentioned, the design of the sensor leaves much to be desired in this area, but there again not everyone has had a problem.  If your particular bike seems worse than others you've tried, then have the dealer check it out.

I never rode my '10 SESG without a SERT and dyno tune... that said, the throttle response on my is perfect. Linear and no flat spots or surging.

It took me a while but I seldom have any issue with the throttle now.  At first it drove me nuts.

I had it on my 09 CVO road glide and liked it, tuned the dead spot out with TTS tuner.  Have it on both my 12 CVO road glide and the 13 CVO King.  I have had no issues with it, and rather like it.  It does not seem twitchy or overly sensitive to me.

I've only been on my new 13 SERK (and my first HD) twice - and one of those was driving it home from the dealership.  My previous bike was a 2002 VTX 1800C that also had TBW, but it had been broken in for 11 years.  Imagine my nerves trying to pull out on a $30k machine that has a much more sensitive throttle (and brakes) and realizing that it might have been a good idea to ride some other Harley before doing so (yes, that was my first HD ride ever).   :-[ :nixweiss:

I know it's going take me a while to get used to both the throttle and brake sensitivity.  Practice makes perfect, I guess.

Be safe,

Tru

Since they switched to TBW the quality of the cruse control action is 1000% better. That is a awesome improvement.

Must admit I also found the throttle a touch sensitive, and asked the dealer to reset the response there still waiting  to hear back from Harley. The only time I really notice it is if I have been out on the fat boy then go out on the ultra can catch you out.

I installed a Vance and Hines throttle pack to help with the touchy throttle.

I personally love how "quick" the throttle response is..

Same here, I love the responsiveness of the bike.

Going from a 2007 SE Ultra with throttle cable to a 2014 Limited with TBW at first it really bugged me, much more sensitive than a cable. Now it's fine. The cruise control that comes with TBW is so much better, Overall I am happy, once my "old" mind adapted I was fine.

IF I'm not mistaken, the TTS Mastertune tuning device has the ability to make some adjustment to the ratio of throttle grip movement vs throttle body butterfly blade opening.  I can't swear to that, but perhaps one of the tuners familiar with the TTS will chime in.  If not, you could PM Steve Cole (a member here and THE TTS man) and get an answer.

I'm certainly no Steve Cole, but the TTS MasterTune allows adjustments to the Throttle Blade Control (TBC) table in the ECM. The SEPST and PowerVision, etc. almost certainly do as well.

In the early TBW days, some people were setting this table to 100% all the way across, thinking that would make it super-responsive... but it's best to simply leave this table at the default values in the TTS cals.

I had the values at 100% for awhile, but it makes the servo motor in the TCA behave a bit erratically, trying to adjust to every tiny change in the twist grip sensor, and throttle response was actually not as nice as the default settings provided. I don't know how changing the values to 100% would affect cruise control operation.

I think the TTS MasterTune Tuning Guide even warns against changing the values in this table, but I haven't looked at it in awhile.

I'm a farmer and the road to home has a private cross-country section through fileds : it's Moto-cross, worse than bad pavement !

ISO Grip with throttle boss helped very much. I was getting mad with the stop'n go feeling...
They improve comfort even on highways with cruise control, wrist position is much better and can rest.

I've put them on L&R sides and kept them from bike to bike. One of my best buy...
