S&S Build Time

Anyone know how far behind S&S is on production of their T124 engines?  I've been told it's a 5 week wait.

When you called them did they give you a date?  I have had pretty good luck with the guys in service.  Have they gone over on a delivery date?  I remember when mine was ordered another shop was told 5 weeks for delivery, I had mine ordered and delivered in about a 7 day time frame while they were waiting.  Are you doing the install or is a shop doing it?  It's got to be starting to get cold out there isn't it?  How are you set on your other components?  Would like to hear how everything is going together.  Keep us posted if possible.

Hoping to have it in this week.  Throttle hogs are done, oil pan and tranny are in, just waiting for the motor and we should be good to go.  I'm hoping to ride next weekend :2vrolijk_21:

Badger, its like Christmas in October :)   What are you doing for a clutch?   This will most likely be your weak link to start.

Doing some updates on the clutch rather than an entire clutch kit.

It's damn near winter here in WI, so I'll probably look to do more work while the snow is on the ground.  The motor should be here today, so hopefully will get one time to start breaking it in this weekend :bananarock:

I would consider upgrading the clutch basket to a billet one.

Thanks for the pics.  We have done some clutch work already to beef it up, may do more over the winter after I get some break in miles.  We're going to put an extended swing arm on it as well, so may change over to a chain during that time as well.

Lots of time now that it's almost Winter here.  Who knows what we'll do next :nixweiss:

Hog95023

That's one nasty looking primary.  Some of the teeth are visible but I would imagine there is a few bad looking stripped out areas that are not visible.  Since the clutch hub is mostly aluminum and not a long lasting part for hard riding what did you replace it with.  I  have installed two clutch baskets and never did find an aftermarket basket.  I already had the new AIM clutch plates & the VP 92 so I reluctantly installed another OEM clutch basket.  Really interested on the parts you installed & the results you achieved.  Right now I'm waiting for the new compensator to arrive.  This will be compensator # 4 that I installed.  The Primary side is my weakest link on my replaced 110'' and there doesn't appear to be an end in sight on primary side for me anyway.
