Iski... I saw Project Gush-More on the forum somewhere, so I can't take credit for that... But Project Clutch-Less is mine.

How about "Info-LAME-ment System" for the radio?

Ken

Ken, Project Clutch-Less is a great name but may give the HDcorpwaukeeans who read here (Howd-dee!) some idea that they could charge extra for a clutch that actually works.  "Oh, you want handlebars AND a working clutch?  That's gonna cost ya...."

Like your radio name.   :2vrolijk_21:

Agree is a shame these bikes are not effectively real world road tested.  That takes time & costs money.  Wonder if the road test cost is less than the cost of recalling 10's of thousands of new bikes for multiple warnty issues? I had a nightmare of an 07 CVO Ultra, but my 2010 is a keeper. Another Thurs am build....?

After reading all the constructive criticism  (whining) I like to put stuff in perspective. Buy an airplane and live with that for a few years. This is nothing. I had Manufacturers and FAA recals. (Service bulletins and ADs). You will be amazed on what kind of stuff that happens behind the scenes and the owner pay for it all long after the warranty is out. (And that new airplane smell

Pretty much. Nothing pusses me of more than when FAA tells me to pay for some 10 year old crap.

Sold my airplane and believe me the HD is a stress relive when it come to issues.

That, and if the engine quotes I am not looking for a landing strip

Thank god Harley doesn't build and sell airplanes.  I'd be afraid to step outside my basement, for fear of planes falling out of the sky on a daily basis.

I'm in Australia and I got the call yesterday for my 2014 BO.
Dealer mentioned a problem with the clutch plates, the wrong type was installed?

We have to wait 3 weeks for the part to arrive down-under and they wanted to have my bike picked up and kept at the dealer until it's all sorted which will probably be a month off the road. Got told not to ride it etc.

It's a shame but, these things happen. I didn't expect my BO to arrive so soon anyway - I expected it in the new year so I guess I was lucky that I got a little sneak preview.
We are fortunate down here that you can ride year round so while its little inconvenient, I'm not on a weather restricted ride calendar like others.

Same story I heard, they came to pick up my bike today.  This could be a while, depending on who gets the priority on parts that come in.

Picked mine up last night.  I think only because I told them I was gonna ride it in.  They didn't like that idea, so they picked her up last night along with my '11 FLHTK needing the 15K service.  I picked up my '11 tonight, so at least I have something to ride. :)  They told me I'd be first on the list of repairs due to the issues I've had already, but who knows, they may have told you the same thing. :)

Heard they installed manual clutch plates instead of hyd plates is why the recall.. Supposedly sending correct plates and rebuild kit for the master cylinder along with new lines.

Recall made it on my local TV news yesterday afternoon. Bad press for sure . . . but self inflicted and well deserved IMO.

Recall on 2014 Breakout CVO
« Reply #89 on: October 20, 2013, 01:23:43 AM »

I was at my HD dealer on Friday and the service manager told me HD corporate had just issued a recall on all 2014 models with the hydraulic clutch. He didn't have any details on the exact problem, but the recall clearly states the bikes are not safe to drive. Go to HD corporate and look at the recall information. The notice is posted there. I left my bike at the dealer until the parts are in to fix the clutch. I don't know when that will be.
